I know Tom. I'm just presuming we'll resign Singleton. If not, I'm finally moving to Boston.

Sure, play Young. What have we got to lose? If we get really lucky he'll blossum enough to keep or trade.

Going into the season, Ernie (and Flip) were pretty sure that our crew of veterans were going to take us deep into the playoffs. Most of us thought that was pretty likely -- at least 2d round.

Management was confident enough of this level of success to push salaries into luxury tax territory, something the Wizards have never done. That fact alone tells you a lot.

We weren't thinking of building for the future; we were thinking of results *now* from what we'd already built.

Because that's where we were going, gil/flip didn't want to count on young players, relatively raw players. And we sure didn't think we needed to *add* any young players.

So now we only have 3 young players -- AB and JM are getting heavy minutes. Nick can't get anything going for himself. Whomever you want to blame for that.

IMO, we might as well play Nick 30 minutes a night from now on. Why not? Because we'll lose more games? How do losses matter right now, if you think of it? I don't believe in tanking, that's for sure, but in the end we'd be a lot better off picking 4th than 8th in June, so even if we miss out on some wins because of the kid, ...so what?

Time to start a "free Nick Young" movement?

How, do you blame Blatche for losing the game, when you kept miller out there for that long while he was FAILING. GARNETT was 0-7? HELLO??????

GET YOUR STATS RIGHT NOOB.

Foye mad bad mistakes, um? YEAH THATS WHY YOU TAKE HIM OUT AND PUT SOME1 ELSE IN!

@neal - I appreciate your analysis of why Saunders wasn't playing the younger guys early in the season. You just might be right-on. It is, after all, a business.

neal -- some ways above you write as if we had rights to Singleton beyond this year. He's unrestricted. I'd love to re-sign him, and I'm sure we'll try to, but no way to be sure.

Very perceptive IMO dlts20. I agree.

I have very mixed feelings about Saunders. His public dissing of his players stinks. On the other hand, he's got us playing better D. And it now looks like he wasn't playing the younger guys earlier on purpose. He and EG probably knew the veterans were going and just wanted them to pad their stats before trade week.

Leonsis's success with the caps started with "getting rid of the overpaid veterans". Well, Miller, Foye and Howard will be FA's so they won't be Wizards unless at a much reduced salary. That leaves........Arenas.
