Most of us thought that was pretty likely -- at least 2d round. Management was confident enough of this level of success to push salaries into luxury tax territory, something the Wizards have never done. That fact alone tells you a lot. We weren't thinking of building for the future; we were thinking of results *now* from what we'd already built. Because that's where we were going, gil/flip didn't want to count on young players, relatively raw players. And we sure didn't think we needed to *add* any young players. So now we only have 3 young players -- AB and JM are getting heavy minutes. Nick can't get anything going for himself. Whomever you want to blame for that. IMO, we might as well play Nick 30 minutes a night from now on. Why not? Because we'll lose more games? How do losses matter right now, if you think of it? I don't believe in tanking, that's for sure, but in the end we'd be a lot better off picking 4th than 8th in June, so even if we miss out on some wins because of the kid, ...so what?
