Game Day Orlando
5;20 AM EST…Dave Johnson checking in…at the start of what promises to be an interesting day…oh it’s rather boring here..just a little breezy…but yes I am kind of curious to see how our travel plans go after tonight’s game against the Magic…Tomorrow’s home game against the Hawks is still on but keeping check back for updates. There is already a ticket exchange policy in place for the Hawks game that you can find on the front of washingtonwizards.com…Now as for the basketball…. to have a chance against the Magic the Wizards can not play selfishly. Flip Saunders over and over has talked about 60% of the Wizards offense this season being stuck on one-pass. The ball will have to move tonight because with the rebounding strength of Dwight Howard the Magic will take advantage of missed shots and do what they want to do by getting out and running and scoring in the open floor.BLOGCAST—radio and blogging together—starts at 7:00 PM —with Flip Saunders comments—on the dial we have great radio stations from Cumberland to Lynchburg….closer to home our flagship is 106.7 FM THE FAN in Washington and in Baltimore 1370 AM…..and there is a LISTEN LIVE link on the right side of the BLOG
8:32 AM EST And will update on Caron Butler’s status (sore left knee) when we have more
12:46 PM EST…..Caron Butler went through shoot around and should be okay
5:30 EST….Jameer Nelson…hyperextended left knee…could be back tonight
6:26 EST…starters are in….Carion Butler return to the strating lineup….so it is Butler with Antawn Jamison..Brendan Haywood…Mike Miller and Randy Foye…Magic will have Jameer Nelson back with Vince Carter Dwight Howard Rashard Lewis and Matt Barnes

I hope the team doesn’t try to fly back home in this weather. The worst period is going to be tonight so they may not be able to fly back tonight after the game. Tomorrow will probably be worst for flying. I’m guessing that they would risk their safety and tomorrow’s game will have to cancelled and rescheduled for another date. Nevertheless, I will be watching from home tomorrow night!

Last Saturday for the Knicks game, people could exchange tickets for tomorrow’s Hawks game due to adverse weather.
For tomorrow, the weather looks worse than last Saturday. I think there will be another ticket exchange unless the snow plows are working quadruple-OT.

I don’t know about you guys, but I really want some major trades to be made. If we keep this team, (Don’t know about Arenas w/e). This isn’t going to be a team that can do much and neither is it rebuilding…
I can’t wait for trades to occur. If some major trades don’t happen, wizards are one BORING team for the remainder of the season :/
Oh well, WIZARDS FOR LIFE!
Let’s beat Orlando again!

Wizards-Fusion – Well, I wanted to see the Wizards play the Knicks in NY. The ticket prices are INSANE!! Even waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there in – the 500 – I believe!!!! Been to the garden once in HS & I will NEVER sit up there again!!
Ppl should be paying to see their fav team – what is that saying about the magic???
Comment from wizards_fusion
Time February 5, 2010 at 8:13 PM
well, the magic is one of the youngest franchises in the nba (~ 20 years), and they’ve had awesome luck in getting top players (Shaq, Penny, Dwight) – so, it’s hard to say what type of fans they have.
because they went to the finals last year and swapped hedo for vince, there has to be a lot of bandwagoners. that’s just my theory.
i’ve been to msg plenty of times and you’re right – the cheapest nosebleed tix i paid was abou $35.

SUPA DUPA!!! – What a great win. Butler shot 50% from the field but he made the shots when it really counted. Haywood did a great job on Howard.
The bench turned it around in the second quarter. I don’t know what Flop said to the starters at half-time, but they came out with a much different approach in the 3rd quarter.
AJ stunk again. B-Wood, Foye, Miller and Butler turned the ball over way tooooo much, but we won!!!!!

That was a fantastic game! Way to go, Caron! The Wiz showed a lot of heart and moxie in beating Orlando.
Of course, because of Eucharistic Adoration, I missed the first part of the game, but saw the middle of the fourth quarter on when the Wiz game through.
This game just goes to show that the Wiz are capable of beating anyone. That is what must be driving Flip nuts.
What the heck happened at the end? Call me crazy, but it was like the refs were searching for any reason to turn the game over to the Magic.
Time for a 8 game win streak! Count on it!
Comment from HardCoreFan
Time February 5, 2010 at 11:58 PM
ChenierFan – I know that’s exactly what I said to my sister. The refs are trying to take away our win. It’s bad enough that we have to work so hard for a win and then the refs try to take it away. I believe that the Wizards were discouraged in a few games because of the calls that the refs made.

In a season full of disappointment on this snowy night thank u Caron for the game winner. In spite of all the rumors going on where u may end up. It is really sad to think of our team getting ready to be split up. But basketball in the NBA is a business. But it is the game winners like Caron’s that eases the hurt and pain.

Wiz_Fusion i don’t think you can count the 91 bulls with the “Best” player to ever play the game i dought there will ever be another Jordan in the draft …
- – -
W4L, why not? Ty asked the question based on a “young nucleus” – he never restricted who was on the team.
Also, remember, the Bulls didn’t draft Pippen – Seattle did. The Bulls traded for him. Without Scottie’s complete all-around skills, the Bulls wouldn’t have won as much as they did – if at all. The “young nucleus” kinda fell perfectly at the right time.
Since you like Caron (I guess for his all-around game), you should check out Pippen during his prime. He was basically maxed out on both offense and defense. Scottie had his turnover problems, kinda like Caron – which I find ironic, but Scottie knew that, with or without Jordan, if he played “hero ball” like Caron does a lot since Gil’s injury, the team will not win. At Caron’s age now, you have to see this as a big liability no matter where he goes – and a fragile team like the current Wizards can’t have someone like that.
