9:57 AM…..Dave Johnson checking in from the city where you can still go to the grocery store and there is not a threat of snow. My apologies on the BLOG last night but justĀ could not get the internet to work. Quick shots and turnovers explained how the Knicks took a nine-point deficit and built a seven-point lead going to the fourth quarter. I know we have been down this road before but just have to move on. That may sound like an over-simplification but in the Wizards position can not look back or look forward. Just take each game

Why don’t we start to trade our players, losing is tough but it is even worse seeing the same people lose. It is also tough seeing antawn struggle the way he has the last few weeks, save this mans career and trade him to the cavs. If the wizards keep him they are are not doing him or the team any favors. It must suck going two straight years with high expectations playing hard for a terrible team.

Wiz4life isn’t the game tomorrow?

yeah i guess i was thinking a day ahead.. i think your right i would also trade Caron and keep Haywood for the rest of the year its time to cut the cord and i think AJ deserves more and i hear LBJ is pushing for the trade they could win it all with AJ playing with Bron that would be one high scoring starting line up

JJ Hicks(i think that’s his name) seems like a fresh new talent (from the cavs).

4 steps to a healthier tomorrow

a. Trade someone. What is Grunfeld waiting for? Stop overvaluing the players on the Wizards. Just get fair value. Expiring contracts are great. Draft picks are fine too.

b. Free McGee.

c. Sell team to someone that actually wants it.

d. Don’t raise ticket prices for STHs.

Wizards4Life – I wrote that AJ was 6 for 27 over the past two games. That’s not padding his stats, that’s truth. It’s also 22% from the field.

My point is that the Wizards can not be a winning team while they rely on AJ and CB to lead them. They wereb the “go to guys” all of last year and half of this year and there is nothing to show for it.

AJ is a very good offensive player. CB can be very good on given nights. Get them both to teams where they can contribute without trying to be the hero. Get young legs in return and develop a team that is truly a team working together to achieve something other than personal stats.

dcbutler357 – I like JJ Hickson also. He’s a 21 year-old 6’9″ forward who could play the 3 or 4 spot. Likes to run and can really leap.

“We didn’t play smart basketball at all. We played selfish basketball down the stretch,” Jamison said, as he slouched on a bench in the visitors’ locker room after the game. “Everybody wants to shoot on the offensive end and nobody wants to play defense. Until we figure out the right way to play, we’re not going to win games at all. I care about winning basketball games. I’m not winning, so I’m not happy.” A. Jamison

If he’s not refering to himself (and I’d bet $10K that he’s not), the man is living in another world. In his defense, however, he only shots when he has the ball.

Yeah JJ Hicks is blocking DWades shot with ease at the very moment…..AJ may be a good offensive threat, but while looking at his averages, he’s shooting like 20+ times a game. While, I’ll look at someone else shooting that many times and they have 40-50 points…..players that shoot 15-20 times a game has about a 25 pt average. at the end of the day, he’s shooting more than the average player and scoring less…..soooo just how much of a weapon is he? LOL…Might wanna get rid of him and Caron, before the other teams figure that out….lol…BUT they will be playing a different role where-ever they go….BEST OF LUCK!!!

I want the cavaliers trade and the houston trade to happen. If we do manage to get Z or Hickson w/e or if we do manage to get T-mac or whoever, we can start to rebuild. If we keep T-Mac, it will be a sort of risk as with his injury issues, but he still a high calibre player (PS WE NEED A SMALL FORWARD/SHOOTING GUARD WHO CAN ACTUALLY DRIVE TO THE HOOP AND DUNK IT SO WE SHOULD KEEP T-MAC anyway). If we get rid of T-mac after this season, we can have some money to try for some freeagents.

What was the last team to win a championship with a young nucleus? Or even come close for that matter?

Tyrone2000, we’re trying to build a championship team. This isn’t going to get us a championship overnight. We have watched this nucleus for five years and we haven’t come close…..we can be patient a few more years. Besides, i’m sure it will be a mixture of players, but to have young at certain positions wouldn’t necessary hurt the wiz, if we have vets that help make them better. Shaq helped dwade and kobe, boston’s vets helped rondo. Parker won young in San Antonio. It’s a mixture, with REAL leaders on the team. Are you going to ask the question every other night ;-)

Also prince was young in detroit. So it’s not necessarily a nucleus, but they were key ingredients in the puzzle. What’s your question, because with the authority that AJ and Caron have been given, I don’t see them changing their mentality or physical games.

- – -
answer = 1991 Bulls

mj: 6 years in league
scottie: 3 years in league
horace grant: 3 years in league
paxson: 7 years in league

only 1 guy in double-digit years – that’s bill cartwright at 10 years in league

these 5 guys were the starters on that team. pretty awesome, young, and played really good defense when it mattered.

When the Wizards look for their next coach, I hope Bruce Pearl would jump ship from the college ranks and go pro to Washington.

I love this enthusiasm and passion (better suited for college game). Flip has both, but he does it out of frustration. Bruce has some good x’s and o’s, but he may not be as sharp when using his knowhow in the pro game.

Lastly, as well as the Cavs are playing right now, I believe they’ve peaked too early. They’ll have the same problems in the playoffs later this year like they did last year.

If the Celtics are healthy in May, I still believe they have the team defense to take down the Cavs.

Wiz_Fusion i don’t think you can count the 91 bulls with the “Best” player to ever play the game i dought there will ever be another Jordan in the draft …
GABBO what i was talking about was adding like 2 game stats to make one stat he had a pretty bad game 2 games in a row.. but he was 4-10 that was not all that great to start with.. but i will say right now if we trade all the guys we have get ready to have about 3 years worth of bilding witch is nothing new to old Bullet/Wizards fans.. and when i mean 3 years i mean bottom of the field for 3 stright years just to get the parts to get back to the first round of the playoffs and out..

CB3 is still my Fav player of all.. AJ is a close 2nd and i hate to see them go but at least they might get a ring with a good team around them
