people might not agree with me on this, but if haywood does decide to leave, i won't miss him that much

he has done well this season, and did decent the season before last, but other than that like wiz4life said brenda was a laughing stock

i think for the wiz to ever consistantly get good again, they need a center who can score the ball, and be a go to guy, and as long as brendan is a part of the team, the wizards aren't going to look for that as much as they would without him.

one guy i would really like to see on this team is carl landry, but he is a restricted free agent this summer and he will probably stay in houston. so i think the wizards should definitely be looking into the draft board to see who can become a great center. of course javale with the right dedication and training could become a good center, but not a go to guy imo, he doesn't have a good body for it. so mabye the loss of haywood will make this team go out for a good big guy in the future.

Gotabigboyoffense, I watch the games very closely. Just don't care to much for Blatche. Yeah, he is hitting his jumpers probably at a very good percentage, but he does about equal bull crap that does not contribute to a win. I'd rather see McGee or Mcguire out there.

I think confident/winning teams expect to win, so in crunch times they make plays that fulfill what they expect. Likewise, teams that are afraid they will lose choke at crucial times, fulfilling what was in their minds.

I think you can have a critical mass where 3-4 hustling players affect the others on the court and they do the same. I'm coming to believe we have a critical mass in the other direction and that we need another hustling/speedy player in the starting lineup. In other words, I'm beginning to think the big three shouldn't be on the court at the same time.

Regarding Haywood and other signings, I am hoping that new ownership will result in less reluctance to spend money. We'll see.

As far as Haywood is concerned the Wiz made a nice offer. He refused it. His choice. Now he must continue to have a career year and help turn this team around by example of his work ethic and commitment.
Hopefully if we can this season around and make the playoffs the Wiz will find a way to get him resigned.

It is time for a new team statistic: Loose balls recovered. My guess is that the Wiz have to be about the worst team in recovering balls loose on the floor. Those are like mini-turnovers. It drives me nuts seeing Brendan, or Caron or Antwan fail to grab loose balls and the other team get a layup out of it - big momentum changer.

Other random Thoughts:
-I hope Gil doesn't come down with "Nick Anderson syndrome" .That is where a series of crucial missed free throws led to him losing confidence and going from an all-star to a mediocre player. Gil has to come back strong.

Time for Flip to make Antawn the sixth man - a role that was made for him. He should also cut his time down to 24 mins because I believe he runs out of gas and it effects his shooting touch (at the foul line in particular). The west coast swing is a good time to try this out. No one is paying attention to the team when they are so far away. The "Big Three" can put up points, but can't get wins. More balance is needed

A second unit of Javalle, Dom, Antawn, Randy & (Duke of) Earl looks pretty good to me.

Even though we have not played as well as we would have expected we still have to support our team. Some call it a curse (injuries) or just a lot of misfortune. Could it be that we are not as good as we use to be? Regardless somehow Flip and the team have got to find a way to get out of this rut. Even with Abe's recent passing you would think that our greatest fan and supporter would spark something in the team. The season is till early so I am believing that Gil,AJ and Caron can reach down in their basketball souls and will this team on. It's time for some good old fan blogging. There have been enough stones thrown this past week.
