Mike James Injury Update

Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that guard Mike James will miss the next four to five weeks with a fracture of the fourth metacarpal on his left (non-shooting) hand.

James, who registered six points and three assists in his one appearance for the Wizards this season (11/6 at IND), sustained the injury during Saturday’s practice session. He missed the final nine games of last season with a fractured right pinky finger.

Oh boy, what a bad timing. Not only do we lose a backup pg in case of other injurys, he loses a lot of (possible) money…contract year…. no playtime…mhhh.

The curse of the wizards :(

@maggicman11 – I’ve got to agree with your post on the previous blog regarding BH. The man simply has no offense. They should only throw the ball to him in the low post if he has a layup or if they are expecting it right back. Flip should tell him, “if it’s not a dunk, it’s not your shot…give it back”. His offensive practice should consist solely on standing in the low post with weights on his ankles and weights his wrists and wearing a twenty pound flack jacket and simply dunking the ball. They should have three small ball boys standing around him so that if he brings the ball down, they can slap it away.

BH does contribute greatly on defense. He’s a smart player and can direct people around. Even a smart defensive player, however, can not compensate enough for the terrible perimeter defense that the Wiz have been playing.

I’m going to bring some WD-40 to the next game and spray it on Gil, ‘Wood, and DSS to help them get the rust off. I’ll save a little for AJ and MM when they get back in action.

at least these guys will be back in a couple of weeks, better than being out a couple of months/indefinitely.

as far as haywood goes, he should get the ball in instances like against pheonix, where he had frye guarding him, but not in most cases. in other cases he should have to earn his buckets, by getting offensive boards, and hustle points. but haywood has played decent these past couple of games, so i can’t be mad at him.

if anyone deserves some heat it’s caron and gil at the moment. the wizards aren’t going to have any success when their two best players are playing bad against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. they need to snap out of this slump so the team can start getting back to winning.

it all goes back to leadership and chemistry. people aren’t getting shots they want, and are taking shots they shouldn’t. the offensive rhythm has been very poor at times, and players are struggling because of it.

Thanks for the awesome post dlst20. We needed that :!: :!: :!:

Maybe that perspective can make it to the coaching staff (in a shorter version ;-) )

(Yesterday’s post. Post of the year, not so much for length, but for its substance)
