Thursday Update

SportzWiz checking in…We are over 24 hours from the Wizards opening night win, and personally I’m still glowing and can’t wait to see the team in action again on Friday night. After an off day yesterday, the Wizards are holding practice currently at Verizon Center before heading off to Atlanta. As always we will have video interviews of players and coach.

For those looking to read up more on the Wizards, WashingtonWizards.com has had a few articles go up in the last day or two so make sure to check those links out as well as the new Wizard Girls Site. Also, the Wizards have released a few new commercials for the 2009-10 season. Check out Caron Butler’s video below.

Anyone live in Baltimore — esp. the north side of town (around Pikesville)?

That’s where I’m going to be tomorrow night, and my mother-in-law doesn’t get CSN (??), so I need to find a bar where I can watch the game.

Any suggestions? Nearest to Reisterstown Rd. is best — thanks to anyone who knows the right place!

Hope you all noticed that M2 has a cool new gravatar, btw.

Flip is predicting minutes for JaVale against the Hawks tomorrow night. I better get to see this game!!

Sorry Tom, I’m not really a B-more guy. I don’t even really like going into DC (by car) if I can help it.

best thing to do is to go to the ESPN zone Tom.

The ESPN zone is in the inner harbor. That isn’t very close to owings mills. Tom the only sure bet I would have would be the green turtle in Towson. It’s about 14 miles from owings mills. 408 york road, towson Md. I’m not local to that area but go there quite often on business. I don’t know of anything on or directly around Reisterstown Rd. I’m sure there is I just don’t know of one.

I kept saying Owings Mills (that’s where I go) I did mean Pikesville (not that the 2 are that far apart :) )

Tis friday and it’s technically game day. Won’t be around for this game tonight fellas, got work during the day then going to a party with a bunch of church friends but don’t worry, I’ll be thinking of you guys and how much fun yall are gonna be having on the blogcast. Hope to come home to reports of a W.

I expect Saunders to stick with the same rotation he had from Tuesday: starting 5 of Arenas, Miller, Haywood, Oberto, and Butler. Hopefully the bigs don’t get into too much foul trouble like Oberto did in the first 90 seconds but if they do then Blatche needs to come in and step up.. they said it on the CSN postgame show the other night, talking about Blatche, that he needs to go out and show that he can post numbers like that on a consistent basis. I like that Saunders has him coming off the bench behind Oberto since Blatche is the #2 power forward behind Jamison anyways.. might as well have him play that role to get him accustomed to it.

Can’t wait till Jamison gets back.. he’ll provide the solid, consistent numbers every game, something Oberto can’t do, although Oberto is like Michael Ruffin (only much better) with the intangibles he does on the floor. Get healthy soon, Tawn! We need you out there!

Have fun on the blogcast tonight guys!! DC STAND UP!!!!!

Green Turtle on York Rd — thanks Grifon. I’ll give them a try. Is there a World Series game tonight? If so, that’ll soak up the TVs, alas (not that the Series is uninteresting — go Phillies!).
