Another Wizard Blogger
SportzWiz checking in….I was just checking out the Wizards twitter page (I highly recommend following them), and I saw that the Wizards have another blogger on the team as Mike Miller just posted a blog on his official site. In his blog post, Miller talks about the Wizards and when you may see him walking the streets of D.C.
Also, Miller is one of seven players to have his own official website, to see who else has their own web page click here.

Has anyone paid attention to Boston? The dream-team would have a hard time in a seven game series…..

That’s a little bit of an exaggeration!!
Cleveland is about to make a nice move, signing Leon Powe, who is recovering from a knee injury and won’t be back til February. Boston let him go, and the Cavs are getting him for the minimum with a 2d year option. He should be back for the playoffs. Leon Powe is a *very* productive player.

Correction, Leon Powe WAS a productive player, before he lost one knee. It remains to be seen (as with Arenas) if he will return to form next season.
Boston is going to be good, for sure, but their championship aspirations rely on a healthy Garnett. Rasheed is going to provide some punch, but will not be able to lead them to the promised land without Garnett.

Yes, fair enough — Cleveland is taking a chance. It’s a low risk (in NBA $$), but still a risk.
You are no doubt right that Garnett is key to any Boston championship run.

i am starting to have some serious doubts about boston. the signing of sheed and daniels looks good, but this team isn’t getting any younger.
and as the years have gone on, ray allen has gotten more inconsistent by the year. who knows when his shot will be falling this season, and in the playoffs, you can write him off for at least two series as far as being productive.
garnett can’t seem to stay healthy, who knows how sheed will fit in, and the bench isn’t looking that great from where i’m sitting. they’re a wild card team just as much as the wizards imo.
imo there is no guaranteed winner in the east. no one knows what shaq will do for the cavs, how the magic will blend this year, if boston can keep healthy and play a few years younger than they are, if the wizards will stay healthy and be good again… shoot the only team that seems to be guaranteed to do just as well as last season is the hawks.
but in the end i think the cavs are the winners in the east. from there imo the magic, celtics, wizards, and hawks will make up the next 4 spots in any order. and from there it’s another race to the finish with the bobcats, heat, pistons, nets, and sixers battling it out.

The Cavs were a *dominant* team last year, and they have gotten better. The Magic went to the Finals, and they have gotten better too. The Celtics are vulnerable to injury, but then… so are we.
You’re probably right that the Hawks are about the same, though they’re thin up front right now and trying to sign someone (joe smith).
The rest of the East is all question marks. Detroit blew its FA opportunities, Miami’s roster is weak w/ one notable exception, Toronto lost key guys but gained Turkoglu (he’s not that much of a difference maker). The Sixers are only as good as Elton Brand. The Nets are young and not very deep.

the thing with the cavs that make me wonder is, will they be able to have that type of home record again? that’s one of the biggest question marks for me, as well as how shaq will fit into the offense.
the magic make me wonder because they basically have a different team to start, than they did when they were doing so well. alston is gone, lee is gone, rashad is gone (for 10 games), turk is gone… they are basically starting out with a new team, so they are a big question mark as well to me. and until dwight doesn’t start to develop a post game, the magic aren’t going to have a guy they can rely on to carry the team, unless mr. carter has another amazing year.
but still i do feel the cavs and the magic are the teams to beat, while the celtics, wizards, and hawks all have something to prove. this should be an interesting playoff race to say the least. here’s to a healthy and strong run for the wizards.

Just saw Andray Blatche…He had just finished up answering some questions and doing some fun things for our in game entertainment this season as well (some very funny stuff on there)…and was about to put in some time on the court with flip saunders. I’ll have more on that later this week.

Oh the Magic are *improved:*
A healthy Jameer for Alston? Any day.
Vince for Hedo. Any day.
Ryan Anderson over Courtney Lee — no way to judge but no likely difference to speak of. In fact, if his presence enables Lewis to play the 3 all the time instead of the 4 sometimes, it’s a big plus. To have Lewis out the first 10 will probably cost them a couple of games, it’s true.
As to the Cavs, they are a *much* better team! They got some length in their backcourt and at the wing, wch they needed. And they got some you know what in the middle!

We’ll finish 3rd.

if we finish third, we should all be very happy. because to do that, we gotta stay healthy and play well togethor, which are the two things we are all hoping for right now.
as for the magic, i agree tom, but talent isn’t everything. the reason imo that team did so well in the post season, is they all seemed to compliment each other so well. when they started playing jameer instead of alston, the team didn’t seem to flow as well, granted jameer was injured.
i’m just not ready to write in pen that the magic are going win the east just yet. they are a brand new team basically, so chemistry is what they’ll have to work at first. second will have to be dwight’s post moves and ft shooting, or they shouldn’t expect to have as much success this season.
