Day One Workouts

SportzWiz checking in…Day one of pre-draft workouts have concluded. I’ll have some videos and pictures to post shortly and Wesley Matthews and Dionte Christmas spoke to the media afterwards so we’ll also have video of that. If you have any questions let me know. What we saw was a little 2-on-2 a few 2-0 drills and a power lay-up drills where guys could only use one dribble and had to go from the free throw line and three-point line to the basket to make layups.

Videos and photos from day one can be seen by clicking here.

Christmas and Matthews are in black and Spain and Taylor are in white.
Christmas is the first to speak and Matthews is the second to speak in the interviews.

It look like there is a good chance to get a pretty good shooting guard in the second round. I like the fact they are looking at seniors.

Matthews is a good Defender and a pretty good shooter. I dont think he is worth a high 2nd round pick IF we keep it. Christmas might be worth it because he has pretty good size and can really hit the 3.

I really hope we win the lottery, SIX MORE DAYS

Good point Millie mill about them being seniors.

Just a quick note, Ernie and Dionte Christmas were joking around after the workout with a couple other people about a game earlier this season.

Ernie is still a big Tennessee fan from his playing days, and this season Christmas dropped 35 on his alma mater.

Spain’s numbers did not improve year to year in college — not a good sign. Christmas looks like he has good size.

Don’t know about these guys, really… but it’s only the first day!

Who’s coming in next?

Im happy that we are still looking for a 2nd round player. I mean, last year we got dominic, this ear we could get a gift as well.

Dominic was two years ago; last year we traded away our 2d round pick.

According to Wizards Insider, Jermaine Taylor experienced lower back tightness and had trouble finishing yesterday’s session. I imagine that flying around the country the way these guys do, it must be hard to keep your body fresh.

SportzWiz, can you post a link to DeShawn’s 80′s themed birthday bash?? I need to see some pics from there with the neon clothing. I googled it, but couldn’t really find what I was looking for. Thanks!!

Tom I believe you would not only bring Blake G. with the first pick to the Wiz. but I believe you would have him signed to a contract on his way to his first press conference.
I read in the Wizard Insider today in the Post that if we draft 3rd we could draft Rubio and then send him to Phoenix with, Blatche, James, Thomas and Chris Bosh.
The Wiz would get Amare Stoudemire and the Raptors would get Phoenix first round pick and Steve Nash.
Their is also chatter that the Wiz could trade their top five pick for Stoudemire or Bosh but they would probably have to give up one of the big three.
Anybody up for predictions of how the Wiz will turn out on May 19th and who we should pick or trade for if we are in the top 3?

no problem. I dont mind when a writer or reporter has information or speculates on something they’ve heard, I just want everyone to be informed of the sources, sometimes the sources can be good.

Other times a fan says well i think Team A needs this and Team B needs this so why don’t I make up a trade that they will swap players that fit those roles.
