The Raptors traded O’Neal and Moon for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. Moon was a productive player, but O’Neal is washed up. They got a lot better, as we’ll likely see in their record the rest of the season.

I don’t know why Riley wanted Jermaine O’Neal — that’s a mystery to me.

I saw that too. The only thing that makes any sense at all to me is that Miami really didn’t have much size. Oneal kinda gives them more size. Past that point I don’t have a clue what he is thinking.

Well, another great coach was just fired – Terry Porter. What a shame. Steve Kerr was cool as a player and all, but it’s unclear as to what he’s trying to do as President/GM. A good thing is that it also makes another great coach available for the Wiz, but it’s not like anything will ever happen for the better for this team. Just a thought…

But man, what a DREAM: Flip Saunders as President/GM (considering that he was president @ Minnesota); Terry Porter as coach, with a whole new crew behind him…Both ARE defensive minded…I guess that I’ll dream away.

The Phoenix owner, Sarver, seems to be something of a loose cannon; he might have been the one to fire Terry Porter. In any case, I don’t see why Phoenix would improve. They have the same roster with the same roster problems (no room for both Amare and Shaq inside).

Terry P. MUST have some type of spark, like Phil Jackson does when it comes to his “big men”. After the departure of D’antoni, Shaq became a 26 and 10 man like he was @ LA…Imagine that for OUR big men! That’s got to speak volumes – - well it does for me, but I am just a fan…

Hi everyone,

Remember to post a “Blogger (fist) Bump” tomorrow night whenever a Wizard does something great that will NOT appear on a stat sheet (forced opponent to alter shot to avoid block; made the extra pass so that someone else could get an assist; kept a rebound alive so that someone else could get it; dove to save a ball from going out ot bounds; etc.) You all get the idea.

I believe that we agreed to use colon asterisk colon to get this smiley face that we will use as a virtual Blogger Bump.

Bridgy the “blogger bump” symbolized by a is a shout out to a player who does something to help the team, but, something that doesn’t show up in any stat catatory. When ever we see a player alter a players shot, makes the additional pass leading to an assist and basket, etc we give that player a shout out with a “blogger bump”. Kind of a neat idea dontcha think?

Long article on Ernie and the team in this morning’s Post. More from Ernie about how “we can compete… when we’re healthy” and speculation that we will trade our top pick, because we look to be over the luxury tax limit for next year and because it’d be the only way to get rid of at least one bad contract (Etan or James).

Every player on this roster was brought here, drafted, re-signed or extended by Ernie. If we succeed, he gets the credit — and if we have problems, he is the guy who created them, and he gets the blame.

A team that has a shot at the top pick in the draft, but “can’t afford it”, is a team that has been mis-managed. Full stop.
