M2-I agree w\ you we have enough young talent at this point a igh draft pick would be great if we could package it via a trade for a veteran.

We have that in McGee & don't use him...

& Griffin is NOT a bum but he is also no where near Tim Duncan...

Harangody was Big east player of the year last season, is averaging 25 & 13 again this year so it looks like he will repeat that feat... You wanna draft him? Or The big (College big that is) kid from UNC Hansboro? Or Steph Curry who Duke locked down (although he got his points, he shot miserably & had 7 turnovers) but he'll be great in the pros right?

You guys & this draft crap need to wake up!

Like I said 1st time around: "We have young players that need development. We don’t need anymore of them!"

LOL...I watched blake the other night....lol.....all i can say is that I didn't see fadeaway layups, I saw dunks when he got close.....

Regardless, he's a man among boys right now, not in NBA, so comparisons between him and NBA players are just that, until he plays against the same players...IMO

Riiiggght -- all Noah is doing is grabbing 16 rebounds per 48 and adding 3 plus blocks along the way. Terrible stuff; we couldn't use that.

And Blake Griffin -- a bum. All he is doing is grabbing 17 rebounds and scoring 27 points every 40 minutes, while shooting 65% from the floor. No way we can use someone like that, right? :)

Noah? No thanks!

Blake Griffin? If he so much as dreams about being as good as Tim Duncan...

We have young players that need development. We don't need anymore of them!

Blake Griffin is not as good as Jamison, Butler, Blatche, McGuire, etc... & he won't be anytime soon. STOP dreaming about the damn draft people.

The Thunder may be getting a bit better; will that drop us to the worst record in the league and the best shot at the first pick in the draft, aka Blake Griffin?

You can't hope for your own failure, but Griffin does look to be a cut above anyone else in the top bunch of players. His college numbers this year, so far, are off the charts. Tim Duncan comes to mind.

Of course you never know. We could improve, OK could get even worse, Blake Griffin could be a stiff.

I believe John Thompson would be a better fit at GM. I really feel he would not give up what he is doing now to come back and coach a team in the shape they are in now salary cap wise, training camp, long season, traveling. I don't think that would be his cup of tea. But as a GM with his knowledge of the league, respect he has among the college and pro ranks would be very attractive for the Wizards. Abe would need to be willing to put the same kind of trust he has in EG and allow a new vision to come forth for the franchise. It would mean Abe would have to offer that opportunity to a John Thompson to consider.
With John as the GM he would be the one who would choose the next coach. He knows who are the good teachers and motivators in the league. He probably could convince a Patrick or ZO to come and teach the bigs. Very well he could hire Patrick to coach the squad and bring in some veteran coaching leadership to work beside him. The challenge is coming into a situation where we have all these guranteed contracts. Maybe John could hire Tom Mandel to look into this salary cap situation.
A well respected new leadership could probably make Washington an attractive place for free agents who may even except less money to be associated with the franchise. I believe that one of the problems with the NBA unlike the NFL is players cannot renegotiate their contracts to create more salary cap space for their respective teams.
Also a John Thompson as GM would send a ray of hope to the present team. Especially from the player development and defensive side.
The Wiz would be the hottest ticket in town.
I believe change is good because you allow a new set of eyes to present a plan to succeed.
Afterall the NBA is a business.

The Sam Mitchell information came directly from the Post's Wizards Insider. I don't think Mitchell is better than Eddie Jordan; however, he does wear nicer suits than Eddie.

This is going to sound like a broken record, but I only want either Avery Johnson or Flip Saunders (mentioned many times in this blog). Flip did work out with the Wizards down in Richmond during pre-season as a special guest. If everyone is healthy next season, the Wizards is a gold mine waiting to be tapped. Imagine everyone back along with #1 pick Blake Griffin. My brain is salivating with this thought ...

Having Coach Thompson get a crack with the Wizards is like what Hubie Brown did with the Grizzlies. Hubie knows a great deal about x's and o's, but he couldn't get the Grizzlies out of the doldrums. I see the same situation with Thompson. Both guys are better suited for the media now because the 82 game grind never works well for older people.

It looks like my prediction of Mike James coming out of his funk was realized. Whatever Nick is eating/drinking - I want some of that. I agree with GABBO that Coach Tap failed last night with matchups. The game was winnable by Washington but it didn't happen.

Although the team is now tied with OKC with the least number of wins, I do see us playing better. The Wizards are no longer losing by 18+. The contests are competitive and we just need to start and close better. I feel that 17 wins is about all this team can crank this season - just as long as it is not 9-73 or worse.
