lol....I had to go to the roster to see who JD was....LOL...

JD has a shooter's mentality PERIOD. Sometimes I don't understand him....it is what it is.

I'm just happy for the productive output by everyone last night.....it made for great blogging and a healthy outlook.

As far as the playoffs (which are far into the future), we are only three losses out of eight in the loss column and five out in the win column. AND we still have played fewer games than most of the teams.....in the words of Bill Maher...."NEW RULE"

As to the shooting -- we had 4 guys combine to go 3 - 22, and we *still* shot over 50%. The rest of the team went 50 - 83, if you can believe that!

Actually, he is right about DeShawn -- yes, he missed his shots, but in every other way he played very good ball.

Songaila also shot poorly, but again the rest of his line was terrific.

Not Juan, however -- and I don't think he is a productive NBA player. Still, I'm not dinging him on last night's 9 minutes!!

Yeah getabigboy is trippin'... Some decent observations bigboy but you mixed it in with a little weed smoking as well...

Ex:
"DS had his best game of the year since he didn’t have to carry any offensive burden. Great team player!"

Who in the he77 are you talking about? DSS's goose egg on 0-7 shooting? I mean, I guess he passed the ball to some guys that actually made shots tonight so he got a few assists..

&:
"Darius was finally was inserted at the 4 position and was able to contribute positively."

"JD was a steady influence (except for one sequence). He can see the entire floor; score; and play defense. Given the opportunity, he is an NBA starter."

Really? D Song pulls a 1-6 shooting & grabs a few boards? I won't even go into Juan being an NBA starter, I love him but that's just funny...

I could obviously go on... But I love what you bring to the blog.
Go getabigboy!

They got a big win on an emotional night at home vs a bad team... That's all so far. But I'm optimistic... Always have been!

I heard an interesting little sports tidbit today while in one of my classes:

A sports athlete who previously had a head of hair (or any facial hair), the media believed that if the particular athlete cut/shaved his or her hair, then it would bring a curse on the team for however long. An example is Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb. He's bald, and look how bad he's played this year. First he didn't even know that there was such thing as a tie in the NFL, and secondly he got benched in a 10-7 game after halftime against the Ravens in Week 12. Other players who had dreadlocks in college and then cut them off once they got to the NFL also started having subpar careers, such as Pacman Jones.

Considering this, wouldn't one think that DeShawn Stevenson shaving his beard entirely off from last season could be a hex put upon us this season? Just food for thought.

Are those actually positive comments from getabigboy!!! Welcome to the blog!!! LOL (I know, I know you've been here all along just frustrated with Eddie and the losses!!)

I was asking earlier about the playoff and lottery. So in the east is 15 teams; 5 each in ATLANTIC, SOUTHEAST (that's us), and CENTRAL.

and in the west is 15 teams; 5 each in SOUTHWEST, NORTHWEST, and PACIFIC.

So if 8 teams of the 15 get in the playoffs; I'm assuming the 9th is a wildcard? then if we keep playing and some of the other teams drop off or beat each other we start to move up some. Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead but for now I'd rather focus on this year; this team, rather then on trades; salary cap, etc; mainly because I don't have enough knowledge. I'm just a poor fan trying to hoop and holler for my team and "our boy"!! It's nice to win for a change! Go Wiz!!! Beat Orlando!!!

Congratulations to Ed Tapscott on his FIRST NBA victory...may there be many more.

Observations:

AB did not look like a player who was afraid to make a mistake and he was TERRIFIC!
AB, CB and AJ contributed to balanced scoring/rebounding. AB can be a force when he has confidence.
AB and JM in the game at the same time present difficulty, both offensively and defensively, to the opponent
JM's enthusiasm and athleticism have all of the makings of an all-star...he just needs to bulk-up and get the playing time. The game is more fun to watch when he is in the lineup.
Slick Nick and DM played their roles to the "T". Spot scoring and great rebounding and defense.
ET got "0" minutes and Petch was at the scorer's table to check in in Q4 making ET appropriately last off the bench
AD was inactive and didn't slow us down.
DB played his best game. Real point guard with SPEED!
The Princeton offense was not apparent...didn't see one intentional dribble handoff.
DS had his best game of the year since he didn't have to carry any offensive burden. Great team player!
Loved the fact that both CB and AJ were willing to give the ball up to non-vets, and were still great producers themselves.
Darius was finally was inserted at the 4 position and was able to contribute positively.
JD was a steady influence (except for one sequence). He can see the entire floor; score; and play defense. Given the opportunity, he is an NBA starter.

Petch's congratulations of Eddie T at the end of the game showed class and togetherness
Players appeared to actually be enjoying themselves.
The game was fun to watch...moreso since we won

Result WIZ (1-10 now 2-10) by WAY MORE THAN ENOUGH against a 5-9 (now5-10) team

Some of the bloggers might be justified to feel vindicated.

Can't wait for the Magic...the Wiz performance (win or lose) will tell the tale about the remainder of the season.
If we beat the Magic, I'll bet the Gil gets better faster!!!
