Day After

8:34 AM.. Dave Johnson back from Atlanta..must have strong stomach muscles…keep taking a punch in the mid section….When DeShawn Stevenson hit that 20 footer from the baseline after Juan Dixon swiped the ball away from Joe Johnson I thought it was going to be the Wizards night…instead the Hawks finished on an 8-0 run…there should be an audio report posted on the site soon that captures the fast start and some of the big plays that were pointing to a Wizards victory…rebounding hurt the Wizards last night with the Hawks ending up with a 22-7 advantage in second chance points…..Dee Brown and JaVale McGee started last night….Eddie Jordan said it was possible they could again on Friday against the Rockets but that could change especially depending the health of Antonio Daniels…again my sincere appreciation to everyone who takes the time to be a part of this blog especially during the BLOGCAST

DAVE JOHNSON AUDIO REPORT

Update
Hey everyone this is SportzWiz checking in. Wizards Game Night Host Autria talked with Dave Johnson and Glenn Consor before Tuesday night’s game. They go pretty in depth about JaVale, Juan, the Wizards rotation and also talk a little bit about what is going on around the NBA.

There is a lot of (to me) silly banging on Eddie Jordan here.

But, in fact, NBA coaches have almost no effect on their teams overall wins and losses. Check out the research yourselves.

I’ll stick with Eddie. I spent way too many years cheering for this team when Wes Unseld was the top dog. I’ll take the trip to the playoffs every year Eddie has been here over whatever it was for the 30 years prior. I may not agree with everything he does, but, he is certainly an upgrade over anything this team has had in recent memory.

Coaches may have almost no effect on their teams overall wins and losses, but, since Eddie got here I don’t think we have had a sub 30 win season. They were pretty common before he got here.

That may be Ernie bringing better talent and or sticking with them longer than Wes did more than it is Eddie’s coaching. I’d like to think it is a good combination of the two.

I like Eddie and I like Ernie. I like some of the players that we have. I see there is a lot of blame on the players, which some of it should be. A lot of blame on Eddie too. He has made some questionable judgements but all coaches do and it hurts more when you’re losing as opposed to when your successful. People always want to blame the coach but remember, he’s not at the top. The coach can only work with what he’s given. If i’m gonna blame anybody it’s gonna be the owner, Abe Pollin. Now, we all love Abe and he’s been a great owner but i feel we will never win a championship as long as he’s the owner. I understand everything about the luxury tax and if you don’t go over that money is plit amongst the teams who didn’t go over, but what did that money get us!? Dee Brown and Juan!? I mean seriously! If that’s the case, we need to go over because that little chunk of money gets you nothing. We have to stop being cheap. Ernie can only get the players that his budget allows and he’s done a good job. Eddie can only coach the players that Ernie gets him. What are we gonna do once Caron is a FA? We’re gonna have to give him top dollar, so whe’ll have a near maxed out Gil, a top dollar Caron, and a top dollar Jamison. Then what are we gonna do after that? Stay under the tax to get a few dollars to sign some guy who can’t crack the lineup of any other team!?

What ever what ever. Ernie is an idiot. Why do you think the Knicks got rid of him. Eddie’s working with what he’s given. At least he should have been given the opportunity to play with a full compliment of players, should they all ever get healthy. I mean really, do you think changing coaches right now is going to salvage the season. Nay I say! Now they have to learn a new offense as well as sure up the defense.
We are lottery bound!
