What a let-down. Back to reality. I guess we still aren't world beaters. I was so deflated I turned it off at half time. My observations based on one half:

Andray Blatche had NO FOULS AND NO TURNOVERS in the half and scored like an all-star. So much for any competition between he and Songaila for time. Songaila didn't do much but foul. So....now the competition is between Songaila and Pecherov for time at PF. That's an important competition, since it looks like Blatche will be getting most of his minutes at C for 3-4 months, and may end up getting minutes backing up Butler if McGuire can't shoot in prime time.

Sorry, but it's time for Linton Johnson to go home.

Am I hearing that Brendan is out 3 months? Yikes!! Hope that's not true.

Only one game, and the starters didn't play much (nor very well either -- except for Caron), so nothing to take away from having lost.

Dom's line says he was 0-6 -- *that* I don't like to see. Was he missing jumpers? Or...?

Looks like Pech played quite well. Shot well and got 7 rebounds in 23 minutes (very good!). Ditto JaVale's performance, though erratic in his case (1-4 from the line and 3 fouls in 12 minutes).

One thing I liked in Dee's performance especially -- he grabbed 3 boards. Probably a tribute to being very quick and strong, even though small. If he can rebound like a bigger guard he will be a big help.

We seem to have some kind of curse? The very first game and we hear Brendan may be out 4 to 6 months. Then we SEE Antawn's knee buckle under him. What the heck is Next?

Ok enough of that!

I thought Andray played really well at times. Dee looked like he fit his billing. That guy is quick. He can run the offense and pass pretty darn well too. I didn't understand Dominic at the 2 but I guess that was because Nick tweaked his knee? He certainly was easily exploited there. I really like Demarr. For his size that kid can move and covers the passing lanes well. Everyone was "clanking" them so who really knows what his shot is like. Pesh didn't impress me much. Almost like a fish swimming in jello. JaVale is gonna be a very very good one. Wow that kid is gonna be Something. Something I didn't realize until tonight...The Kid has Attitude!

whew. i just heard good news on sportsnite... eddie said that tawn is walking around and is in good spirits. injury isn't as serious as it looked, and that it may just be a hyperextended patellar tendon or something like that. but so far no ligament damage.

on a more down note, brendan will likely be having surgery and he could be missing most of the season.
