Doesn’t sound like Juan will be competing for a roster spot either, welcome to spot #15. The burning question is: Does Dee+Dixon=Mason? I loved the part where he said he used to live “way out in Silver Spring.” Where do the Wizards practice? Somewhere in VA?

naw they practice at the Verizon Center.

ohh, Silver Spring really wasn’t that far away. Doesn’t Gilbert live all the way out in Great Falls? Though I understand wanting to be 10-15 minutes away from the practice facilities.

Silver Spring is big — extends way out.

Juan sounds good; lets hope for good things from him.

Having Etan back, Blatche stepping up, and Dominic forcing his way into the rotation by solid play: those are the things that can happen to make a big difference this year. If Nick also steps up his game in the more minutes he is now almost certain to get, then this will help enormously.

Everything is on Eddie Jordan this year. If he makes Antawn, Caron, Antonio, Brendan & Deshawn each play 40 minutes every game we will have another wounded team at the end of the season.

I agree rgz. Moreover, in order to take the next step we need for 2-3 of our kids to develope in a big way. They can’t do it w/o playing. Better to lose 2-3 more games this year from letting the kids play and win 5-6 more the next several years.

I’m soooo excited about the season starting that I’m going to get my hair cut tomorrow (sexsssay) – that information was probably kinda irrelevant lol, but yay, I can’t wait! A fresh new beginning for me and new beginnings for the Wizards! Overall, I’m optimistic.

Go Wiz!!

Who did we get when we traded Dixon away last time? Anyone remember?

I thought Juan and Steve Blake signed with Portland because they were free agents.

I am looking forward to the pre-season & season
My wish list:
1- Wiz stay healthy
2- start season strong
3-defense, defense, defense
4- improved play from AB,NY,DMAC and Pesh
5- healthy ET and BH averaging 18 points/18 rebounds per game
6- great role play from Songalia, Dee and Juan
7- Gill back healthy with Wiz playing over 10 games over 500

I don’t care about autographs myself, but I must say it doesn’t sound nice that only season ticket holders can get them. It’s bad business, bad marketing, too. IMO.

I’m sure any of the locals on this blog, for example, would *love* to have season tickets (and maybe some do), but if you can’t afford the $$ it doesn’t make you less of a fan.

No idea about the autograph situation, if I hear anything I will let you know.

Juan Dixon was an unrestricted free agent back in 2005. Portland got him. There was no trade; however, the Wizards did get Caron, AD, and Chucky Atkins via other deals that offseasaon and getting 2 PGs probably told Juan that he’s no longer going to get minutes in Washington.

Steve Blake was a restricted free agent back in 2005. Portland got him too.

To W4L – I’ve been to the Richmond thing. There are no autographs there, but if you’re lucky, you may be able to take photos with Coach Jordan. The autographs thing you mentioned with Season Ticket holders is for the Annual “Meet the Team” event. Dave Johnson announces all the players on the Wizards (each wave to the crowd) and kids get to have facepainting and balloons and stuff like that. There is also another autograph session that happens after a home game – again for Season Ticket holders only.

It is easy to tell that AD and Haywood may make good head coaches because they both are very well spoken individuals. It helps that both LOVE to talk.

Hey, I love to talk too — can I be an NBA coach, please? :)

Wizards fusion: actually last year i think was the first time they officially started giving autographs at training caamp….it was after the scrimmage and u had 2 be a season ticket holder…..over the past few years I have been able to get autographs from the players before or after the scrimmage….as an autograph collector and fan, I wish Ernie Grunfield would make it so everyone can get autographs at it….i mean it holds memories u know? like i go 2 boarding school and live in richmond so im lucky to even go to 1 game a year if that….so im sayin+its+kinda+mean+Grunfield+does+that….like+Tom+said+its+bad+marketing+and+business

Tom. I’m not sure you are Coach material? Usually if a coach’s player has a bad statistical night they just restrict minutes or bench them. Your idea of “firing squad” would seem a little severe. LOL
