WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey everyone, that’s really all I can say one day after the most lopsided playoff victory in franchise history. Where to start, I guess i’ll go with the crowd, there’s no way you can understand the atmosphere unless you were there. Simply sensational!!! As I said yesterday if you can go on Sunday, I would do whatever I need to because if the crowd is anything like it was last night you’ll be in for an electric atmosphere.
Obviously the crowd was great but so were several players. Roger Mason first comes to mind the guy really sparked it all of the bench along with Dray who was a force on the defensive end. Gilbert starting also was huge to get the crowd into the game, CB3 was in typical “Tough Juice” form and what a defensive performance by the entire team. Of course props to DeShawn the guy played great on both ends as well as Brendan Haywood who has been great in this series, he’s 14 of 18 from the field, and doing a great job down low as well.
I’ll be down at practice in about 20 and we’ll get the latest update on Gil. If you have any questions please let me know,
UPDATE: Just got back from practice here is the scoop on Gil.
Arenas has a bone bruise in his left knee and a pinched nerve in the back of his knee. The team diagnosed both of these before the game, and by playing he can’t reinjure himself further. however, the problem comes when he comes out of the game and his knee tightens up. That’s why he only played about 10-15 minutes. He actually knew that going in and that’s why he started because had he sat for 15 minutes he might not have been able to come into the game. He said right now there’s nothing you can do about the bone bruise except play through the pain, with the nerve they can rub it and loosen it up so he’s ok.
He said had the team needed him he could’ve played through the pain in the second half but there was no need. He said he’ll probably play a similar role on Sunday, and on the road he will probably play more because the team needs him more. So not great news but not horrible news at the same time.
Other than that the players kept talking up the crowd and how this is turning into a fun rivalry between the cities, not only the players but the fans as well. DeShawn was asked what made him go with the Mohawk and he said he saw what Caron and Nick did and he decided he had to step it up as well. Caron said he came up with the idea when he couldn’t sleep because he kept thinking about game 2. Quotes coming.

“WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
my sentements exactly! this was the most dominating i have seen the wiz play all season, i think. and the VC was ELECTRIC! brendan haywood is an animal! we will have to wait and see how he does in the next playoff rodie, but if ernie dosent sign roger to at least a 2 yr extension he needs to have his head examined! i was amazed at the crowd last night and i only got told to be quiet one time. lol (i am extremly loud)
i just really want sense of how the wiz are feeling today and if they understand that this blowout is only one win and all for nothing unless we get a win by any means necissary on sunday.
and BTW, I hope no one thinks this was in bad taste, but i was the guy with the big sign of lebrons mom’s mugshot pic on it. i got his attention with it more than once. him and damon jones where visibly upset whenever i got their attention! halarious!

“I won’t be heard from in a while so just always cheer hard for our team because they need it. I’ll remain cheering and watching as well” [4/21]…..
-I thought, but I realized that if I just balance out my time a bit, things will be all good. Besides, I just can’t read without wanting to post. Also, SportzWiz been snappin’ lately, which, I think, is as a result of needing some Bridge in his life lol. Everybody need a lil Bridge sometimes lol. Y’all better not cuss; ok, I won’t either because I don’t wanna get banned from the site – ya can’t get kicked off of here and feel like a rebel…more like a reject…kinda like some of those Cavs players last night who got their shots blocked by Dray (hahaha). But I’ll watch my language because I know that sometimes I be one of the main bloggers; as a matter of fact, I think that I’m the “originator” of the ***. Hey SportzWiz, instead of ***, can I &^$ instead?? Naw, I’m just messin’ with ya; I’ll be good.
It felt good at half-time to watch an-almost-silent Barkley. He looked so salty and sooo disappointed. I respected him as a player, but he can’t say NOTHING about the Wiz lookin like a Krispy Kreme regular…I know what he “gone fishin” for…
So many excuses were given for Lebron. No excuses! We just did GREAT!!!! I agree about Mason pbscreamer –
GO WIZARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Bridge I know i’ve been snappin and I’m sorry to be a stickler on this, it’s just that again we have all different ages reading this blog. This is a family friendly Wizards blog and the offical blog of the Washington Wizards. It’s also why Cavs fans that come over to harass Wizards fans don’t make it through or moderation system.
This blog tries to cater to the true hardcore classy Wizards fan. Or at least as much as possible. that’s why we give you the best up to date information about the Wizards with our full time spent on just the Wiz.

Welcome back, Bridge!!
phoneboothscreamer, that is so funny that you were told to quiet down “only” twice last night! I did not think that was even possible, as loud as it was last night.
Really, LeBron saw your poster? Did other people have it?

I was at the game last night and will be at the game on Sunday and while everyone that was there was extremely loud, there will still a decent amount of empty seats which was pretty disappointing. I mean, I know I can’t be the only one who can’t stand Lebron and the rest of his “team”. I thought there were a couple of huge keys to last night’s game, number 1 being that we matched Caron and sometimes Antawn on Lebron. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Deshawn but I think we need to harass Lebron with size and I think that’s what slowed him down last night. You could see it wasn’t as easy for him to see or pass over our taller defenders. Another key was the fact that we were taking it to the rim instead of settling for jump shots. By us driving to the basket it opened up our outside shooters, my boys Mason and Deshawn, and they took advantage of it to the fullest. I think if we continue to do these things well along with rotating on defense, then we should be able to beat Lebron and their role players who don’t actually fill any roles.

actually the entire section of 115 told me they were annoyed with how loud i was… to be honest i just dont care. i paid my cash to sit as close as i could afford/find, im going to be herd! during the regular season its almost comical how many people tell me to shut up who are wiz fans, ridiculus. i bring muscle to a playoff game. lol, cause im know im gonna give it my all! im proud to say i can only communicate via email today, my voice is FINNISHED!
i actually brought 500 8×11 copys of my poster to hand out, but i got to the arena and though if i had the idea to put some ones moma on blast like that i should have the stones to do it my self. at one point i had damon jones starring at me with this look on his face like.. “what the heck does that mean?” i made eye contace with him and pointed, i yelled “thats your boys moma, real nice!” he deffinitly herd me ’cause he smirked in his damon jones kind of way. i just gave him the “i cant feel my face” he turned away and i kept on scremin. i feel like i was a game changer

Germany? Whas up there phlemy?
Yeah, I’d hate to see Mason go. He’s gotten to be solid in more than just 3 pointers. But I would like to see him fight for loose balls and rebounds more.
With Mason, Daniels, Songaila, and Blatche (and Thomas) we finally have a good bench.

Last night was great. I was there and was surprised how loud it got, especially for a Wizards game. We need to get some of the people that go to Caps games to come to these games. I’ve been to plenty of both this year, and the Caps games are just ridiculously loud and have such a large effect on the game. If we can get Wizards fans to produce half the noise Caps fans do, the Phone Booth will be a great place for basketball too!

all i know is, if the atmophere on sunday is not up to par i feel like we have a good shot at loosing. (duck as rotten tomatoes fly at my head! lol) we have to have the 6th man in the crowd. if any of u guys where there last night you know what im talking about. it felt the the whole district was packed in the phone booth. the fans simply would not let the cavs get a rythm and would not let the wiz loose. put it this way, i was 12 rows back and i didnt hear a whistle all night, it was that loud
we need a big game 4 win, no matter what!

I’m sorry guys, I thought about it – tried planning for it because I “plan” before I “do.” I have to prepare for graduation; being an “independent” student, I don’t rely on my parent’s finances, so it’s not too easy for me to just come. I have to think smart, so I’ll just be watching at home. I’ll still be cheering loud though…

I’ll still be in Chicago on Sunday — for once, I’ll be glad the game is on TNT!!
I hope there is no letdown and I hope we don’t think we’ve “proven” anything, because we haven’t. The only thing that will mean anything is to win the series.
Anyone who thinks we’ll get another blowout win is misguided. It’ll be a very tough game. I don’t think it’ll hurt us for Gil to sit out, or to play his 10 minutes if he can; he really hasn’t helped that much, esp. not on defense — which is where we are going to have to win this coming game.
Aundra chided Blatche for missing free throws. That’s right. And he had more turnovers than steals and more fouls than assists (tho he did block 2 shots as well). Both those areas are about discipline. He is so gifted on the court, but he will not be an impact player until he becomes a disciplined one.

I watched on TV. I was REALLY proud of the sea of white T shirts in the stands. I remember when the Bullets/Wizards would play the Knicks or Celtics and there would be as many guys rooting for the visitors as for the home team.
Well, I think we’ve proved something. I think we’ve shown that when we play up to our potential we’re at least as good a team as these guys.
I’ll take Arenas for 10-15 minutes, in a NY minute. I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Especially if he’s into “facilitating” unless he gets an open shot. But I’m glad he’s not playing 40 minutes, even if totally healthy. I’m not as big a fan of the 40 minute Arenas as a lot of people.
I agree completely with Tom’s comments on Blatche. I REALLY hope experience, coaching and effort on his part will improve those areas.

I was so hoping for a signature game! We finally showed them what we can do as a “team”. Gil only played 10 minutes but those assists of his were pretty amazing. That’s the Gil I was hoping would rejoin the team. It was nice to see Deshawn and Caronimo finally get comfortable out there. This is the first year Andray has really gotten any real minutes. I think with him being part of the regular rotation his upside is through the roof. He is so atheletic! Ernie…. resign Roger! He has developed into so much more than just a shooter. His defense is great. I agree Neal. We finally have a “good” bench. We have only waited 30 years for it lol.
I agree Tom. The first game could have gone either way if we didn’t go cold in the 4th quarter. Games 2 and 3 were blow outs. If history is any teacher these next (however many) games will be decided by less than 5 points. We need to pull the belts very tight Sunday and come to the green flag strong and on the outside!

Also, of course, what’s up with gil, but since you will check that anyways…nvm
Then…Deshawn+Blatche…why now the mohawk? Maybe really to somehow “taunt” damon jones? Or just because it’s a badass (i like mohaws, hellyah!) haircut?
That’s it for the moment…and just tell em: THEY RULE! =)
