well here come’s the big day. i said it, days ago… gil will play in LA! thats my slogan, u like? lol ne way if not, will joing the cavs blog as godeshawn. now i might not be the smartest but does ne one believe the raptors and cavs have been losing to much lately, maybe purposely. i dont think the cavs wanna play us, matter of fact i know. we beat them last time, no zydrunas, and no gil, u pick the better player. ne way seeds 4-7 is up for grabs, wiz are going to claim that 4th or 5th spot. but cleveland has a tough schedule. philly has to play them twice. so will we see how this works out. DESHAWN, if u can stop the king, try stopping the greatest player in the league since MJ. u have played good against him before so i know u can do it. kobe wants to avoid getting into any trouble, take advantage of him and get under his skin. they are seeking a win, every game in the west is vital. and we didnt come to LA to lose. so deshawn do us a favor, SHUT DOWN KOBE! Gilbert please DONT come back, I mean I’m not going against you or anything guys but Gil said he would come back in DC and I’d love to see him do so. And in the mean time Ivan Carter said that Gil would do his best, to get back as soon as wednesday so I guess he’ll do so. Anyway Tonight tough game because weak teams have beaten LA lately and they are gonna have to wake up soon or later and I hope it won’t be against us. I hope D-song keeps the good play up, and as usually I rely on Tuff Juice and ‘Tawn to secure everything even if they don’t have an extraordinary night. Ok, I didn’t mean what I said yesterday about not posting anymore – I love this blog and I love interacting with everyone (shout-out to LilGil, my homie). I don’t post on here as if I’m always right, but I do try to back my comments up. Nothing personal at all, I just happen to be very opinionated.
Anyway, I’m about to go finish up on some homework so that I can watch this game tonight and blog with my fellow bloggers. I believe in us 100%; we could get this W. And I agree gee wiz that D-Steve just got to go out there tonight real aggressive (but not too aggressive – don’t need foul trouble for this game).

Cavs clinched the playoffs, not 4th.
I don’t believe Whitney was signed on the 25th and it hasn’t been reported. And if they were going to sign him it would have been before now.
Got to win this one today to make this a successful road trip. I don’t think we can beat Utah in Utah after playing the night before.

Wish the playoffs started today, I really like the Cavs-Wizards series Round 1, followed by Celtics round 2 and then probably Detroit in the eastern finals if we can take Boston in 7 (We did beat them back to back and have a chance to spank them again in a week

Hey bridge — I didn’t meant to cause you frustration or to upset you.
I think I said back when we were under .500 that I loved this season and the way the team has fought thru difficulty. I meant it then, and even more now!
I played basketball as a kid (long ago) and have followed it for most of my life. I love the game not the numbers. The numbers are about the game, but no they are not all of the game. A big shot, an inspiring dunk, etc. — those things are important, in fact they are critical.
But numbers do matter, and talking about ‘the little things that don’t appear on the box score’ doesn’t really change that. Players who *do* fill up the box score *also* do those little things!
Tonight’s game is what’s really important, however. It would be *great* to get a win against these guys.
We could wind up playing Philadelphia in the first round — how strange would that be?

So things are looking pretty good. Getting some tough road wins. Does anyone know whats going on with Blatche? Hes not playing much. Ever since D. Song replaced him as a starter. His minutes have dwindled. I heard EJ mention its his energy level. D. Song is playing his best ball as a Wizard over the past month. It would be great if Blatche could step it up and give Jamison a rest. We need to push for a good spot in the playoffs but we need our guys healthy in the playoffs. Maybe reducing Jamisons minutes by 3 or 4 per game would be a good idea? It would be nice to see Blatche and Young protect the ball more and reduce those quick fouls that they both tend to get. They need to step up now!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUSLY PEOPLE BECAUSE I COULD BE WRONG; I watch games very closely…None of us know of the personal stuff said but uh….All I gotta say is that I knew IMMEDIATELY that there was tension even before tip-off. I am not lying to you guys when I say that I actually rewinded to make sure that I saw what I THINK Stevenson said to LBJ, which would be this:

I have a funky new concept and that is we should not play from 15 down but explode with 20 points up! The keys to the game is picks, pickem high, pick Kobe from the right , pick Kobe from the left and just attack the basket all night long! I really hope we get the cavs in the first round of the playoffs. It would be great to teach LBJ a lesson and I really think they’ve been playing awful basketball since the trade. Also, Philadelphia is playing super scary right now.

well on the game previews for each game, Gilbert is usually listed on the injury report as OUT. Last sunday when he was supposed to play against Detroit he was listed as “day-to-day”. However, tonight is the first time all year that he hasn’t been on the injury report. I don’t know if that means he’s going to play or for some reason they just left him off the list, because he did say on his blog that his first game back would be in washington.

The interview begins with Gilbert talking about how he’s still unsure of when he’ll be cleared to play again and then suddenly, it took a wild, Arenas-turn when he was asked about the upcoming summer.
“I want to see Antawn (Jamison) taken care of first and then, I’ll take a pay cut to keep the team intact,” Arenas said.
How much less is he willing to take?
“That depends on what Antawn wants,” Arenas replied with a chuckle. “We’ve been together six out of my seven years so we have an understanding. We know what it’s in jeopardy so, you know, I told him whatever he wants, give it to him, and I’ll take the pay cut. I know what he does. He’s a part of my success and I’m a part of his success so we have this one-two combination that works in this league. We know we make each other better. Someone has to sacrifice. This might be one of his last contracts so I’ll sacrifice and hopefully, I’ll get another one at the end of the day. And if I don’t, I know I did the right thing.”

I have seen only three plays so far but DeShawn does definitely have some troubles guarding Kobe… But still we’re only down by 11 (Nick has still to hit a buzzer beater in his carrier and that was very close) so the second half will be interesting!

Great to hear Gilbert say he’d take a pay cut if necessary to keep Jamison. This year he’s making $11.9M. If he even agrees to exercise his option at $12.8M it will be a relief. I take him at his word that money is not the only thing motivating him. That was the case when he came here in the first place.
If Daniels can’t play will Arenas suit up tomorrow night? I think so.

this was a great game. very good shooting from deshawn and nick young and butler hitting that clutch shot and making plays. jamison stuggled but i blame the refs for this loss . man there were so many no calls for the wizards. majority of the calls were going to lakers but this is always like for the wizards. too bad we cudnt close out on the lakers but Utah here we come!

man i stayed up late watching it thinking about how nick young scoring with ease looked like gilbert arenas. and deshawn hittin thouse shots over Kobe!! im suprised Kobe hasnt said anything that he was just throwing them up and getting lucky. but there were calls that were missed clearly. i hope the wizards will bring it in utah.

I didn’t realize the Puddlers have so much more than Bryant. Odom, Fisher, and those two Eastern Europeans. No wonder they’ve won so many.
I’m still impressed by how much better defense the good college teams play than most pro teams. They’re all about energy and tenacity. It seems most of the pros are pacing themselves so they can really put out on the other end, where there’s more glory to be had.
I didn’t see the second half, but in the first half it looked like Young was playing more with his teammates. Not just looking to shoot every time he touched the ball.
From what the Post said, I don’t look for Kirilenko to play tonight.

WELL…i told you guys i wasnt going to be able to blog…but i did watch the game…we played a great game…cant ask for more out of Nick Young…he tried his best and got us into the game and even gave us the lead a couple of times…he looked like he was having a lot of FUN out there…he wasnt worried about missing a shot or making a turnover…he would think about what he was going to do with the ball he would just do it…if Nick continues to play this way he may even get the start tonight if Antoinio Daniels is out…Caron had a triple-double…he had a helluva game as well…Antawn’s scoring wasnt its usually but he hit some really critical shots…
im just hoping we can get this one tonight against the Jazz….we seem to match up pretty welll agaisnt them…

I fell asleep last night watching the game with about 5 minutes left!!! Looks like I really missed out on some action. I’m sorry we didn’t win, but we played incredibly! Great game anyway.

Ok I misread about the CAVS clinching the 4th spot. Glad to know I was wrong. However, I did read in the washington Post that Gil states he would take a pay cut if it will help the team resign Jamison..

I’ll see you there!!! im next to the wizards tunnel w/ my white/brown arenas jersey. my girlfriend is going to wear the Nick Young Jersey I bout her. We’re his biggest fans!!! With that said, I’m not surprised Young scored the way he did. He’s a true scorer.
