All-Stars Named Tonight
Hey everyone, tough loss for the Wiz last night, but hopefully we should receive some good news tonight at around 8:00, when TNT announces the All-Star reserves. I think without question that Caron and Antawn are extremely deserving to go and I think both of them will make it.
Personally here is my All-Star reserves.
East
F Caron Butler
F Antawn Jamison
G Chauncey Billups
G Jose Calderon
C Chris Bosh
Wild Card Paul Pierce
Wild Card Richard Hamilton
West
G Steve Nash
G Chris Paul
F Dirk Nowitzki
F Carlos Boozer
C Amare Stoudemire
Wild Card Brandon Roy
Wild Card Josh Howard (although I could make just as good an argument for Baron Davis)

I hate the way we choose all-stars, it is such a popularity contest, it has nothing to do with how well a guy is playing or his stats it is about how many times someone logs on their computer and votes for you, what about the fan that has no computer and is not going to the games to vote. Do you think that young Butler fans in Racine have computers that they can use to vote everyday? This method really puts some teams with good players in small markets at a disadvantage. Jamison has had a solid year he and Butler have made this team a force in the east. DWade has not done that, his team is not playing well at all, but he is an all-star, Pierce is nice but he is not carrying his team like Jamison. Jamison is averaging a double double every game, the other night he had 20 rebounds, he is playing better than most guys in his position in the east. Butler, well I don’t even need to say anything, he should get in just for being able to play with a straw in his mouth.

Suzie, you are right about the Starters, but at least the coaches get to choose the reserves.

Exactly, the Coaches are voting for the Reserves. Though I think it should be reversed. I think the Coaches should vote for the starters, while the fans should vote for the Reserves.
But I believe that Jamison is in. There is no other forward besides Howard in the East that is posting his number. He’s on a winning team. He’s in for sure..
Not only Wade, I don’t see how Kidd was voted a starter. A Reserve maybe? not a Starter..

Hell yeah - they made it!!

Never doubted it. There was no way they both wouldn’t make the team. Congratulation to both..

YEEEEEEEEEES, the coaches have spoken and I agree

I like Sportswiz’s list of all-star reserves. I only disagree with the West lineup. I would have selected David West over Josh Howard and Baron Davis over Steve Nash. Leaving Nash off the team is like blasphemous, but his performance this year hasn’t been as impressive to me as the last 3 years. The Boozer/Dirk situation is tough to decide. Boozer was unstoppable early in the year when Dirk was muted and now Dirk is heating up while Boozer has kind of dropped off lately.

Sorry to break TNT’s thunder, but ESPN News just named the lineups. Congrats - both Antawn and Caron made it. My computer clock says 7:57 pm EST. Calderon is snubbed.

Congrats Tough Juice and Antawn
Is why they can not have the starters be chosen very early in the season
Then they would not have enough time to vote

‘Where’s the cake?”

They must have snubbed Calderon because he wasn’t a starter before T.J.Ford got hurt. But he surely deserved it.

Nice to see both of them get their second trip to the All Star Game as Wizards!

This is awesome for AJ and Tough Juice. Hard work, dedication and commitment produces the ability to perform at your very best. This accomplishment should inspire the other players on the roster to follow their example. Hopefully this will inspire the team to greater heights and deeper into the playoffs this year.

Well deserved
I’m really happy for both of them.
