I just want to see yi play. I want to see how he does against our bigs. I thought pre draft he had a chance to be good. I would have picked him in the top three as a draft. surprised teams picked garbage before him. Anyway can;t wait to see him against Blatche and Jamison. I’m irritated that Pech’s injury is taking so long to recover from. I have potential to eat crow but I think he’s just as good if not better than Blatche. I base this on his rebounding, his “getting mad buckets son” and his work ethic. But regardless of who’s better it’ll be great to see them play together in the second unit. They coordinate well. I know people want a Haywood/ Blatche lineup but a Blatche/ Pech lineup in the second unit is sexier. yes I know, I’m talking about Pech in a milwaukee game thread. It’s only because I want to see how yi plays. Yi’s averaging 11/6 but is capable of better and he’s a Young 7 footer with about the same size/ strength and weight as Blatche and Pech. My favourite young bigs who haven’t been fully realized yet (yi, pech- who i’d turn into dirk, Blatche- who I’d turn into Sheed/ garnett, Bynum – who I’d turn into shaq, Tyrus Thomas -who i’d try to turn into rodman..
I want to see what kind of player yi projects to be cause I haven’t watched alot of milwaukee games. It would be great to watch him against known quantities on our team.

I think Haywood was sorta taken out of his game against the pistons because he was guarding Rasheed and Rasheed was hanging outside and shooting the long ball. I was surprised that the Wizards made no real adjustment for that. The officiating in that game was curious as well. I could break down several calls but one interaction caught my attention. Rasheed had just gotten a technical and he kept jawing. After a couple of trips down the floor, one of the officials finally told Flip Sanders that Rasheed better be quiet. Flip’s response “What am I supposed to do?” Last year, the officials were cracking down on public displays of disagreement. That has gone back to the way it used to be. I saw an NFL Network show on how they grade their officials. Wish there was a system in place like that in the NBA.

I’m also very hopeful regarding what Pecherov can do. Blatche is playing like a rookie and Songaila is having an off year. Pecherov has a lot of pro experience. Maybe he’ll be better than we have any right to expect.

So the question for the game tonight is which Andray Blatche will show up? Sometimes it looks like he can’t decide if he wants to be Marcus Camby or Danny Manning. Last game he had sand kicked in his face by Milsap and Wallace. If he is really all of 248lbs as listed then hs shouldn’t be knocked off balance so much. That being said, it needs to be mentioned that he learning a new position in the NBA and is just 21 and not yet totally filled out physically. Also, when I saw the Wiz play at New Jersey a few days ago he was totally goofing around during warmups – barely making any shots at all. While Butler and Jamison were focused like lasers during warmups. I remember seeing Bernard King up close during warmups (in those days you could get good seats without having to take out a reverse mortgage). That guy got angry if he missed a shot at all during the warmup. Then he would continue that intensity and go out and beat the other teams brains out during the game.
I can’t wait to see what type of game Pecherov has. But let’s be patient and let him take as long as he needs to get back because the Wiz are in good shape at this point to make the playoffs.
As for tonight, the Wiz will need to bring a big game to beat the Bucks – even without (the Grunfeld drafted) Redd.
Go Wiz – let’s bring home the bacon!

Chenier Fan: Glenn here, u need to change ur Blog name to Consorfan,
, Blatch needs to play consistently, they really need his defensive presence to help on the weakside, and especially tonight, Bucks should play lots of Zone, Wiz need Blatche to be able to score in the paint, so they dont settle for jumpers. Another key for this game is “first team to 100< Bucks have not won a game this year when an opposing team scores over 100, Wiz need to push the pace.

Right, I meant Maxiell – my apologies.
I don’t get the joke “Consorfan”
There is one thing that Blatche always does (To Glenn’s point) and that is to give teams a moment’s pause before they drive to the hoop. One of the reasons Blatche’s blocked shots are down a bit is because the league knows by now that it’s not easy around the hoop when Andray is in there. They all have seen enough film to know that it is usually a losing proposition to go inside with him in there.

Hey everybody, I saw a couple posts from yesterday that I would try and answer.
First off on the Pech front, he is now going through drills with the assistant coaches after practice, he is still not getting to go 5 on 5, but its improving everyday. You can see he is really anxious to get back out on the court and has been for the last couple of weeks.
A couple people were also talking about Haywood’s production in the Detroit game and I thought Brendan played pretty well. He recorded his 12th double double of the season scoring 15 points to go with 10 boards.
Also Coach Jordan talked about Darius’s DNP. He said Darius was good to go but between matchups and his sore achilles they decided to rest him. He also said he likes a lot of matchups for Songaila in the upcoming games.
