I don’t know how others are feeling today, but I’m having difficulty trying to focus on the Wiz’s fantastic performance against Mavs with the Sean Taylor news. I’m not a Redskins fan but since I live in the DC area now, I still care about local sports information. And as a person, you have to feel about someone else teetering on life/death because it is a human condition (even though I don’t know anything about him). I guess that if you don’t care, then you’re either too immature or is a robot without a heart.

I was travelling for work all day yesterday but my ears were glued to newsradio to get updates on Taylor’s condition. When I went to bed around midnight, the last bit of news seemed positive. The Wiz highlights became secondary (I screamed after seeing the final score on T.V. but then went back to holding for hope about Sean Taylor). This morning’s news of his passing completely put sports on hold for me.

As time moves forward, Taylor will become a memory for most. For now, my deepest sympathies go out to his family.

^ Agreed. It was a great game last night, but at the end of the day it’s still a game. I too am not a Redskins fan but this still affects me in a negative way. Sympathies go out to his family. No one deserves what he got. I thought his responding to doctors by squeezing his hand was the first step in his recovery but saw the news this morning. Truly a tragedy. RIP Sean Taylor.

Going to bed they said Sean Taylor was showing positve signs. I still went to bed feeling a bit uneasy. Going to work and turning on the radio which the first thing i heard was the sad news. I couldn’t believe it. As a redskin fan, it was hard for me to celebrate on the wizards victory last night. What a great talent he had and his presence will be greatly missed. RIP Sean Taylor.

RIP Sean Taylor, and my prayers go out to your family and friends.

I just saw the tickets, i am seriously contemplating taking the wifey.

Also, the forward in cleveland(Anderson Varejao) is ready to part ways……anybody see a fit with the wiz?

yeah I watch all redskins games and was hating the fact that TO was strolling into the end zone with no sean taylor there. I couldnt wait till the nex time Taylor is around to scare the sh*t out of him. on a personal level I wouldnt want anyone to die needlessly. So its not really about football. This can easily happen to anybody, no ones untouchable. I found out early and was going to call my girlfriend whos a diehard redskins fan but changed my mind, didn’t want to depress her or ruin her day.

OT; what tickets are you guys talking about that are 10 bucks? where is that cause I don’t see it. and are they good seats or in the nosebleed section

I received an email from washingtonsports.com (pertaining to the $10 tickets). There’s also a holiday package going on, whereas you get Carons jersey with the package….okay, i’m starting to feel like i’m a marketing agent :-)

R.I.P. Sean Taylor, I’m not a huge football fan but I like it and I often watch the redskins. I didn’t know him (I actually don’t know any football players…) but how couldn’t I feel sad about him. My thoughts are with his family, son and girlfriend right now, this is just unfair…
Now about the Wiz, just wanna say great performance yesterday, I think the Wiz managed the D way better than against Memphis and I love to see the Wiz getting great buckets and defending!! We’re gonna need all that against San Antonio! You guys remember how Eddie was ejected from the game last year, well this year we’re gonna show em what we’re talkin about!!

^ Ha I remember when Eddie got ejected. I was actually really happy when he did because he was standing up for our team. I remember sayin to the TV: “You tell em Eddie!” I don’t remember the actual play, but I remember that it was a horrible horrible call.

RIP SEAN TAYLOR WE ALL GOIG TO MISS U.
one thing i feel really sad about this traegy is that he was so young with a baby girl that was only 18 mouth. i may not kno what it like to have a child but i can still understand what it mean to watch someone child grow without a father to watch his child grow. i truly wish the taylor family the best and pray they can overcome thiis.

Regarding the tickets, the e-mail just says “upper level”, regular $40-$48. Let me know your e-mail if you want me to forward the one I got.

I’m not going unless I can meet (and hopefully sit with) a couple of you guys, so let me know if you’re going to buy those tickets.

Varejao is looking to get outta a cavs uni.. wounder if we could use him i know we got a lot of bigs but he can rebound the ball a lot better than most and he never ask for the ball one of the best role players in the NBA IMO..

and the Sean Taylor thing is bad from all points and i hate that some one hurt this young guy and his kid & Wife for what appears to be nothing its sad that the world is like that hope for all the people in the world that we learn from this that life is short and take care of what we got and thank god for what he has given us.. and live the way we want to so when its over we leave nothing undone R.I.P

Varejao was looking for something well above the MLE, $10 million a year I think? I think Blatche is already a better backup C-PF with more upside, at about a third the price.

i’d rather give the PT to blatche or pecherov. also, as said, he would be too expensive, otherwise, cleveland would have signed him already. besides, we need a low post scorer, don’t think varejao fits the bill….but i do agree that he is a good role player.

R.I.P. Sean Taylor. Aint nobody takin your place man. We really gonna miss you man..

For those who are Wizards fans are most likely Redskins fans too. What a terrible and unnecessary thing to have happened. I still can’t believe it happened. My condolences for the family, and of course, the Redskins. They just lost a brother. =(

But trying to focus on the topic, the Wizards played extremely well against the Mavs. It was certainly the most complete game we’ve had all season. Everyone had pitched in, in several different ways, which is pleasing to hear. With Gilbert out, we will really need to step it up another level, which doesn’t seem like a problem as of right now.

Our bench is doing great no doubt, but still needs to contribute more than what they are giving at the moment. I’ve seen great improvement over the past couple of weeks, which has been from everyone, another pleasant thing to hear.

Our next game at the most, is going to be a challenge to see if we can really step it up that next level. I am expecting pretty good things, from what I have been watching the last couple of games. Our offense is great, but if we can step up our defense, we can stop the powerhouse Spurs from gaining another victory.

LETS GO WIZARDS..make us proud!

Oh..forget about Varejao. We wont get him..and we don’t need him. Need I remind you guys about Pecherov. I cannot WAIT until Pecherov is healthy once again. That man can play everything. He is great at playing the post, rebounding, assisting, shooting with a nice jumper, along with a nice 3 to add on to the list. I’ve seen some really nice things from the guy..and I can’t wait til he returns.

My condolances to the Taylor family. Too soon a promising life cut short for no good reason. Go with God Sean.

The last thing we need to do is sign Varejao. PF is our deepest position and apparently the owner considers us out of money.

I’m less optimistic about Pecherov. He’s just a prospect at this point. We’ll see what he can actually do in prime time. One thing good, he can play C better than expected.

Have you guys noticed that Jamison is attacking the basket more than last year? Last year he was almost exclusively a spot up and shoot guy. He’s much more dangerous/productive this way.

We are in deep kimchee if Daniels goes down.

Time November 28, 2007 at 8:22 AM

Right… you can’t have a team with *one* point guard!

I agree about Pecherov too — he is a nice prospect, but we haven’t seen him against NBA players.
