Gilbert is a great player and teammate. You'd have to be nuts to think we're better off without him!

His absence, however, does make things intriguing for a while -- will Ernie add someone? will the rookies step up? is Andray as good as he seems to be? how will AJ hold up? is Caron likely to be even better w/ the pressure on him? will Brendan keep up the pace he's set for himself? what about Pech -- is he a wild card?

So far this season has been a *wild ride* -- and it's hardly gotten started!

I don't think its that he didnt trust his team. i don't think we should be waiting for arenas to go down to start saying we felt different about him. He stepped in when we needed scoring and was an adequate distributor. My only thing is they scoring threat IMO should come from all five positions like it is now. I'm actually comfortable giving our guys alot of run. I'm comfortable with nick young, Blatche, pech and Dmac getting alot of burn. That might mean more young bringing the ball, more Dmac at the two or three and Pech playing in different positions.
I think we should be fine kinda. We have in one way or another run aot of shooting gaurds at the point. Gil has a more SG mentality, larry hughes also was a sg who could play point, we're trying the same with roger mason, nick young, Deshawn was being groomed to play point in Utah, caron can step in to play the two when one of our two's plays the one. If anything I see a bigger lineup. If they don't do that well I'm fine with it. Our really big moves come during summer IMO. At that point hopefully our young guys have gained experience they might not have had a chance to do so, we have Arenas back healthy, we have free cap space from resigning AJ at less and we have an eye on this draft that has some gems.

Like the guy who commented in the Post, I think Arenas was a two-edged sword. He didn't trust his teamates enough. However, he's the biggest talent we have and I think he's gradually maturing and looking to assist a little more and not take shots just because they're there. Although we can still be good w/o him, I think to reach the next level we need a mature Arenas running Jordan's system, and so comfortable in himself that he doesn't feel he needs to prove anything anymore.

We're in a fix because Pollin wouldn't spend a little luxury tax. If we had started the year with another player or two (and we certainly could have had them for the minimum), they would already know the system. Now, we'll be bringing in someone who will have a considerable adjustment period. Shortsidedness. What were the odds we wouldn't have a rash of injuries? Small, I'll bet. Almost every team has them at some point and you have to go to the bench warmers.

I'm sure Ernie is looking for some way to add to the roster. We have 10 players; only 6 of them can be counted on to contribute night in night out. That's too tough.

Now... if all our dreams come through immediately (Mason is adequately solid; Young scores in bunches; McGuire plays the game at a level equal to his athleticism; Songaila is an adequate solid veteran), and if Pecherov can command minutes when he returns --- why then, all is well.

Daniels can play 30 terrific minutes -- asking him to do what he did last night, night in and night out, is just too much. And we certainly can't afford for him to be injured!

So... whether it's Earl Boykins or whoever, we definitely gotta have another guard.

BRUCE O Ican give you a 1000 reasons why we should be losing but I am not going to give you one of them. Right now it crunch time for this Washington Organization so everyone has to be a multitasker and be able to do a multiple of tasks in order to survive the top feeder fish like San Antonio,Dallas,Phoenix and Boston. We have done well with the bottom feeders such as Indianas, Philadelphia and we must not show fear because thats what everyone is looking for! This next week ahead starting Saturday against Memphis will tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth about the character and drive I see when I look in there eyes.So it doesn't surprise me to see the Masons and Young multitasking while playing the point but what I see is only the drive they appear to have any no one seems to no why!

we are thin at the center as of now. Once Blatche picked up his 4th foul the cats started walzing through the middle. Also I'd much rather have had nick young on the court when caron was going for the buzzer beater. Just because we needed only one point to win. he could get a clear shot at the basket. I suppose maybe they were afraid of rookie mistakes but still. I think he would have given us a decent shot because he is creative offensively.
I think we'll be ok with a true pg in AD. Only issue is who will back him up. Nick young has an Ok enough handle but thats not his true position. I suppose its a crash course in NBA for him. Once Haywood and Pech come back we'll have depth in the big man area and atleast we've determined that Blatche can be solid for us and he isn't some mirage for now. A part of me wants to Jockey to get michael Beasley somehow. IF its via tanking or some trade at the end of the season. He can be our SF/ PF for the future. He's a franchise player IMO. Far more aggresive IMO than durant

I watched the game in a bar. This bar I get out to in gaithersburg televises the game. The whole time i was just thinking about how many people we've lost atleast for this game. Also how thin we are at the center spot until pech returns. Hopefully brendans sprain heals. I'd rather have arenas healed in 3 months and have him for the rest of his career than hobbling the rest of this season plus some undetermined time while not fully recovered. I guess this gives us time to give our young guys time on the floor. To see how much we can win without gil. If at the end of this we have a bad record atleast we can draft early and get a critical piece. If we have a good record we will then be a good team then have the addition of gil, ready for the playoffs. It was a tight win. Have you guys noticed that our two's are playing the point as well. I've seen deshawn, nick and roger mason bring the ball up

Well. Went to a bar to watch the game and they didnt even have Comcast. I was very annoyed. I also previously heard about Gil. That hurts. Even so, I am liking this team right now. I'm loving this team right now. Sounds like we missed chances to put it away, but we got the W on the second of a back to back on the road missing two of our starters. Thats heart.

Looking forward to the games this weekend. I will probably miss Friday's game :( but should catch the one on Sat.

CB is the MAN! I cant stop saying this. I wish I could have seen his performance tonight. He is definitely my favorite player and it looks like he had one of his best games of his career. And how bout AB with 5 blocks?! Love to see that stat. Love my Wiz.

Great win today! This is probably one of the most important win so far.
Without gil we going to need the guards to step up bottom line.
Hope they can contine this so we be ready for the spurs, and Dallas
