HOME SWEET HOME

11:45 AM..good to be back home…good food in Chicago but about the basketball….I was not counting on a sweep of the pre season…Eddie Jordan took some of the blame for the game..saying lack of focus on offense was a factor in the loss but he also gave full credit to the Bulls….they play tough D….but the Wizards were staying with them  in the first half even though Gil and Antawn could not hit a shot..it’s fair to say Gil is still searching for his offensive rythym. despite the loss..as the WHO once said the Kids Are Alright…McGuire, Young, Pecherov and Blatche gave us reasons for encouragement.

wizdot com who are you affiliated with? And dave could you slip it into someones mind for us to steal some of chicagos defensive ideas. The full court press would be something I’m curious whether we could do. I only saw the highlights/ play by play and the box score. How was nicks offense. I know he went to the line alot which is good. IS he getting into a groove now? I noticed he scored at a good percentage where other people were struggling. Who was gaurding him and was this person much shorter?

BruceO – I’m affliated with me myself and I. ;) (if you were around the blog before this past August, you’ll know who I am)

Maybe I should change my SN….nah, too much sentimental value. :)

yeah you used to run the thing right? I thought you used to work with the blog until you kinda retired, hows life now? Must have been awesome working with the wiz. I’d probably do it for tickets if they let me. Plus I’m about the players age so I’d get on well with them definately. But dreaming is always fun

Ahhh – retired. that would be nice :)

Working for the Wizards was the best professional experiences of my career, and personally fulfilled a life-long dream. The organization is full of GREAT people, many of whom I’m honored to call friends (except Daren Jenkins – that guy is just TOO cool for me ;) ).

yeah it’d be awesome to help the organization in some way or another. To be honest I’m more like a fan who has things he wants to know that maybe other fans might enjoy. Just have enthusiasm for it and know alot about this team from a fan perspective. I followed nick young pre draft thinking one day he’ll be a beast and we might draft him and we did. I followed dominic when they were saying he was the dark horse for SF thats unknown and guess what we got him too.
In some way I’d be telling player stories and filling fans in on things to watch out for and things they want to know. I dont consider myself a sports writer though. Something on the blog would be fun, to me it’d be like being a fan insider keeping a diary of the season while hanging out with the players. Thats probably what I’d do in all honesty and that might draw interest. Gil has a blog, and If I did a blog from a wizards fan perspective with access hanging out with the players, Talk about what goes into a season and day to day hard work required to be successful and just comraderie that goes on. That would be my angle. A connection between the team, players and fans. I don’t think i’d consider myself a reporter cause I’m biased in favor of the wiz. I like what the Isreali kid elie does. I’m a big fan of his stuff

yeah I saw that 360 months ago. Yeah thanks lil gil for posting elie’s links so I don’t have to. Seen the one were he dared kobe to do a left one handed shot from half court and kobe made it on the third try. Elie had to do like a bunch of push ups on that

check out the first link. Kwame looks so much older now up close. He’s no longer the young pup he used to be. It’ s the first video where hes doing the hula and joking about being cute. I’m glad hes having a good time regardless. I don’t want anyone to be unhappy just cause we think he sucks at basketball. I actually think hes a good post defender but with bad hands for catching and finishing

Has Kwame done any better in LA than he did here?

Interesting that the Post said Jordan had his basic 8 (the starters plus Daniels, Songaila and Blatche) and were looking for a 9th player for the rotation from among Mason, Young, McGuire and Pecherov. So it will be another limited rotation, with some really good players not getting much playing time. I guess we should be happy we have this problem. My vote for a 9th player would be one of the guards.

I don’t think Jordan mind playing the BIG THREE 40 minutes a game. Personally I think he should rotate some of the young guys in so incase we need them down the stretch they wouldn’t be playing like they are nervous. And say the Big Three for those types of minutes towards the end of the season.

Another thing: I don’t think Jordan will be here next season if the Wizards don’t do well.

I think it would be a shame to lose Jordan. Who’s better? He has taken them to the playoffs with his Princeton offense. Perhaps his best attribute is he lets Grunfeld get the players and now he’s letting Ayers run the defense. That’s a refreshing change from the egos of most coaches.
