PHOTOS: COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY MAKEOVER AT SPINGARN

Verizon Center launched its year-long tenth anniversary campaign on Thursday, September 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Spingarn High School with a Community Service Day makeover. Team personnel, players and staff members from the Washington Wizards, Washington Mystics, Washington Capitals and Verizon Center helped paint Spingarn High School’s gym and landscaped the exterior of the school.

    OT: I saw somewhere on dc bog (dan steinbergs) that gil was saying about nick youngs defense, “he can’t stick to that wall over there” lol but also was praising his offense, calling him microwave lol ( not quite the hibachi) he said the moment nick young steps on the court he’ll be a much better player than jarvis hayes ever was, which says alot. You talking about a dude who averaged more than ten points his rookie season, he can defend some SF, Sg’s well. although is limited in many ways. So maybe he thinks nick young will be more effective than jarvis ever was for us, and more effective than jarvis will be for detroit
