Gilbert Arenas (#6 in red jersey) showed up to ball at Berry Farms’ Goodman League in Southeast DC. Kudos to Dan Steinberg’s BogTV.

This video is nice but the one from last year made by hoops tv was even better (check it on youtube). I’m a fan of Gil for many reasons and knowing where he’s from is just one of em. By the way, new blog entry from Agent Zero ;)

The Wizards signed James Posey today — no just kidding; it was the Celtics.

Posey is an excellent player. Boston is going to be very hard to deal with this season.

Wizards need to get Gils contract done as soon as possible and not wait. He is our NBA team! If he leaves, it’s back to the- see if you get a 20 win season and a lottery pick years…

Gil will not sign a deal until after the season. Don’t get your hopes up tyrone20000.

Make no bones…Gil will be back. I do not believe for one second that he wants to leave DC, or that EG will let him leave DC.

GIL WILL BE HERE FOR THE REMAINDER OF HIS CAREER!

some idiot made a comment about gil on the 7th biggest cornerstone blog saying that gil has not accomplished anything! well… let me say this. anytime u go from a nothing to a superstar in less than five years, u are something! something special! he is an all-star, he played in the USA basketball tourney, and for once these days which is scarce for us “African Americans” he is a role model. stays out of trouble, and though he came from the ghetto or projects what have u, he doesn’t show it! so go sit on a cactus DUDE! one more thing. the thing that seperates gil from alot of atheletes is that he was a fan of the NBA before got drafted, and he still is a fan! he has favorite players and teams just like us! what im saying is its not about the contract and big bucks, he is humbled that the wizards organization gave him a chance and made him a star. he loves this city. in golden state that was twan’s team with jason richardson! now he is in washington where this is his team!

Draftexpress has a very interesting article titled “Is the NBA Full?” and detailing the incredible number of players who are not going to land spots on teams this year that might have found it much easier in years past.

The article claims that the Wizards may decide to go into the season carrying only 13 players in order to stay out of Luxury Tax territory. Right now we’ve got 12 guaranteed and 2 (Hall and Taylor) unguaranteed, and Booth not signed. Interesting.

Thats a great article, I am sure we could use Yaroslev Korolev or James White. We Might be able to Sign and trade Mike Hall To San Antonio for James White.

I’m all for Gil doing things in the community. I love him for that. But still it bothers me to see him rolling in Barry Farms, alone, and in a $400,000 car. He doesn’t have to have a security team with him but he should take someone along with him…

James White was cut, I believe — so he’s available, but I don’t think we need him. Korolev perhaps? I don’t really know his game.

Another guy probably available is Derrick Byars, projected in the 1st round in June by many but picked #42 by Portland. Looks like there is no room on the roster for him, and I imagine they’d take a future 2d round pick for him. Don’t know that we have room for him — or even if he is worth investing in, for that matter.

Speaking of leagues, does anyone know where the Wizards are holding their pre-season training camp? Or have they not announced it yet? Last year the held it at VCU in Richmond, VA and I was able to watch them play pickup games and the Wizard’s or VCU didn’t charge admission, it was if there were seats, you got in.
