Does anyone know where the Wizard’s training camp will be held? have they announced it yet? Last year they held it at VCU, a college in Richmond, VA and I got a chance to see them play. I have posted this in 2 other blogs on this site and no one has yet to know the answer....Some feed-back would be really great!

I sure hope he grows up in time to at least try to reach his potential. I'm glad the NBA stopped drafting kids out of high school. So few of them, if any, are ready physically or emotionally. Be patient Neal... he is still a kid.

I see Blatche is at it again. Got scolded by the judge for not being in touch with the court. The guy is just undisciplined. I hope he does well at the beginning of the year and can be used as trade bait.

It's very nice to meet you Grif. My name is actually Jack. We have raced dirt and asphalt for years and have always used a large "Griffin" decal on the race cars, hauler, and trailer.

Before I posted about Charles Oakley I had just seen an interview on ESPN where he said he was serious about coming back into the NBA. He also said in the same breath that he is in the process of writing a book with a couple of chapters still missing? Hmmmmm? I thought is was kinda funny as these days Brendan Haywood probably has more "hops"? lol

GrifonRacing I don't think Charles Oakley will come back to the NBA. He's like 44 years old! that would be insane if he came back. As for the Wizard's situation, I think if the Wizards were willing to pay the luxury tax (Which Ernie Grunfield has stated they don't want to do), then maybe we could be able to get rid of Ruffin, Booth and Mason for some better free agents. Oh yeah, my name is Grif also! lol. You are like the 2nd person I have ever talked to whose name is Grif. lol.

WizFan I'd love to have any of the players you mentioned, but, I don't think we can afford them without a trade being involved. How do you feel about Charles Oakley? Hmmm? lol. Is he in shape and ready to play or is this a ploy to sell his upcoming book? Calvin Booth / Charles Oakley ? Hmmm.

I hear ya brian. I think if we had one or two more really good veteran players then we will be good. I think the Wizards need to make an offer to either Anderson Varejao, Mickael Pietrus, Sasha Pavlovic, Chuck Hayes, or even Michael Sweetney. Those guys are the top free-agents left on the table. All of those guys put up a good amount of points off the bench for their teams and are not that old of players so could eventually become starting status players. Either one of those guys would be great for the Wizards in addition to many of the good players they have. I personally would try looking to get rid of Michael Ruffin, Calvin Booth, and Roger Mason because they just haven't proven themselves as dominant players coming off the bench.

i feel ya on some things but i must disagree because the wizards bench is much better. honestly last year coming off the bench all we had was etan, AD, and hayes. now we have AD, etan, nick, dominic, and OP! nick is going to be an all star within 5-7 seasons, dominic should have been a first round pick he has a bright future, and OP is mysterious he can either make us or break us. AD is AD and etan is etan. it was definitely an upgrade, but as far as being a gaurenteed championship contender we are so so in that area. we have a shot. but a we are one star short of a dynasty in the making! i would love to see deshawn come off the bench because he and caron are sort of the same. mid range jumper slash take it to the hoop and tough D. i would love to have a three point bomber like redd, or allen, maybe even salim stoudemire to keep pressure off gil, but then again while they are doubling gil up top deshawn and caron are wide open on the wings! i like deshawn as an energy booster like a sixth man!

The Wizard's have done a great job improving their coaching staff this summer. However, I feel the Wizard's have lacked in improving their roster in significant ways during the free-agency period. Although the Wizard's re-signed DeShawn, Andray, Donnel, and Mike Hall (who are all great players or will be great players in a couple years), the Wizards have failed to acquire any high scoring starters or players who are able to score off the bench this off season nor have they acquired any true defensive players (although they officially added Oleksiy Pecherov who I think will do good this year for the team). During the off season, the league has witnessed the Eastern conference become stronger than before with the addition of several key players from the West such as Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Zach Randolph, Rashard Lewis, and Jason Richardson. Now that these players have shifted from terrible Western Conference teams (besides Jason) to below average-slightly above average Eastern Conference teams, the East is now more of a threat then it was before. The Washington Wizard's orginization has watched Juwan Howard, Richard Hamilton, Larry Hughes, Jerry Stackhouse, Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace and now Jarvis Hayes (just to name a few) leave the Wizard's orginization over the years through free agency, trades, or personal issues. I feel that the Washington Wizards need to look at the big scheme of things and realize that they don't have a dominating force on defense or a very powerful scoring bench. I feel that the Wizards need to consider letting some of the bench players go either through trade or waiving their contracts and find some dominant defensive players or scorers who do not expect a very big contract right now (just like what DeShawn did). If the Wizards are able to do that then I feel they will not be threatened by the recently strengthened Eastern Conference. I know that Ernie Grunfield has stated he does not want to go over the sallary cap, but somehow, some way, the Wizards need to get a better bench.
