Steve

The article said that Miami will now "pull the trigger" on the deal because they lost out of Steve Francis. The article also said they wanted Francis but would go for the JCN deal because they needed a good "point guard"? It's my understanding that Mr. Navarro is NOT a point guard? Hoops World is the "only" place i've read that trade scenario.

I keep telling you guys, the GM at Memphis doesn't work for Pau Gasol!

The big hope w/ JCN's rights has been to use them to get someone to take on Etan's contract. If that cant' be done, it'd be *great* to get a 1st round pick next year for them.

wait grifon is the trade close to being done. it makes sense financially because you are just trading rights for rights. other considerations could be cash. considering how he was a 2nd rd pick it would be an improvement to get a 1st not in the lottery even though he might be worth more than that supposedly. he hasnt proved he can hit the nba 3 with consistently yet so to me he is still a rookie that could be nothing more than a role player. I think we should wait out for memphis, we could get their 1st because pao will start demanding that they get jcn.

Hoops World says JCN is going to Miami for a future draft pick and "other considerations" ? Does that make sense financially guys? I'm not a financial guy as all of you know, but, that deal seems very weak to me because it's not likely Miami will be a lottery team next year. Maybe Shaq is the "other considerations"? LOL

Well... I just hope it isn't "screwed" like it would have been in the pre EG days. lol

I'd like to see us get a good Big like everyone else on here, but, I really see no way to do that given the fact that most of the good free agents are gone. We wouldn't have been able to afford any of them anyway. If we make a trade it will, no doubt, involve multiple teams. Portland has quite a few good Bigs? Miami and Memphis want JCN? Who knows? I wish Denver hadn't just signed Chucky Atkins.... I had some hopes that way.

I agree about Blatche, btw -- you can think of him as a rookie this year, coming in after 2 years of college and picked high in the first round. That justifies the numbers he'll get from the wizards as a restricted FA and makes you realize that he has a lot of work to earn minutes.

Still, really we are waiting on a trade, which would change the way the roster is arranged.

If you have the strength to "throw in Wes Unseld" you have to be *one big dude*. :)

The problem w/ starting AD at the point is that the team slows down considerably, and that's away from our strengths. What is true, however, is that to get real value out of Antonio, we need to play him more minutes. And that is difficult, given the minutes Gil plays. That is why he is a trade candidate -- he is a player probably more valuable to another team than to us.

Depending on how everyone progresses (Mr. Young, Dmac, Mr. Miles, Pesh, and Mr. Blatche) this is going to be a very interesting season. Mr. Songalia has already showed his abilities once he got healthy.

Even if we stay put we have gotten a lot better as an over all team. Much more depth this year.

A good center is nice, but, the Bulls won a few championships without one?
