I feel you Tom and W4L. After seeing the Wiz perform as well as they did in the first half of the season, we see the potential. Problem is we still don't have the banger inside. Somebody to do the dirty work. Why are we keeping Calvin Booth? There has to be a Ben Wallace clone out there somewhere. Should we send JCN and ET to the Grizzlies for a draft pick and Stromile Swift? Swift has one more year on his contract. I feel something is about ot happen this week. Stay tuned.
With BH and ET and their shaky past I know EG has to make a move.

I know what you mean W4L -- but, remember, if a trade happens it's likely to be something none of us have thought of.

Trades have to serve *both* teams; both teams have to want to do a trade and feel that they will better themselves. That's a pretty big wild card for folks like us who only think about what the Wizards need!

yeah i don't see how its going down its like we are keeping AB but we are close if not over the cap if we do! we need to keep JCN or trade him or i don't know sell him and then we need more 5 power! that's why i wanted the DS deal to hit so i can see what EG had in his head all summer because right now i am lost in all the what ifs and buts

BTW, if we are fantasizing about Camby -- why not make it be about LaMarcus Aldridge. He is going to be a star, and the Blazers just drafted a 10 year starter in Oden. But, I think they will go twin towers rather than trade the guy; he is too good.

"Fantasizing" -- yup. But, why not?! It would be great to have Camby. Not that he'll come our way for the package you describe.

I'm not much of a Magloire fan; I don't think we missed much. If we do manage to trade e.g. Etan, we solve one problem but create another -- who is our backup center?

You do make a good point about minutes at the 4. I think Blatche is *a lock* to be resigned. Ernie loves his upside, and for good reason. We just signed Darius last year, but still I wonder whether he could be on the trading block? Would be weird, but... you never know.

I've been gone for a week. Thought the big one would have happened by now.

I heard an interview with Jordan. When asked who would be in line for training camp he said that in addition to Pecherov, Young and McGuire, that "Miles, Vissar and Hall played well". That sounds rather definitive.

I was happy the wiz were able to close out the SL with a couple of wins. I was really impressed with Dominic Mcguire (Scottie Pippen clone). That is why I chose my log in name as dmac. i sincerely believe we may possibly have the steal of the draft in Dominic. His versatility may enable him to get more rookie minutes than Nick Young. I enjoyed watching Nick, Oleskiy and Aaron Miles. Mike Hall is a smart player but I don't see him making the squad. Aaron Miles has a great chance to be the 3rd pg behind AD. We have a lot of talent at the forward position and I don't know if it will be in our best interest to keep Andray Blatche if he is not going to get the minutes. think about it. You got Antawn, Caron starting, with Oleskiy, Darius and Dominic coming off the bench. With Gilbert and Deshawn starting that leaves AD, Nick and possibly Aaron to backup.
Now the concern for EG is what to do with ET or BH. I would have loved to signed Magloire but we were not in the position to do anything because our midlevel money is tied up in resigning Deshawn and possibly keeping Blatche.
Maybe we can swing something with Denver by offering JCN and ET for Marcus Camby.
We may have to include Blatche. But think about it Gil, Deshawn, Marcus, Antawn and Caron and new depth off the bench.
I know I am fantasizing but I just want to see the WIZ win big next season. No more what if's. If we are to keep Gilbert then lets run straight to the East finals.

Ditto the comments about Miles. He definitely should be invited. I know it is just summer league, so there will be some regression, but his basketball IQ seems very high. I agree with the broadcasters that he should be no worse than a 3rd string PG in the NBA. I hope he can be that with the Wiz.

Following last night's game I looked back on the performances of 5 players in particular. I like the summer league big three (Pech, D-Mac and Young), but add to that Hall and Miles. I would love to see Mike and Aaron get a somewhat regular shot at the big level, but the numbers are not likely to work out. I filled all twelve active spots on the roster in no time flat. The best case scenario for them to make the team is to start as inactive. Then they might get spot play, at best. A space could open up if we deal JCN, Etan and/or AD (All three have been mentioned in trade rumors), but that is slim.

It will be something to see about over the next few months. I just know that EG will knock my socks off with a crafty front office move.

Eric -- it's *not too late* for you to go to law school, if that is something you find really interesting. I have an old friend, one of the most prominent tax attorneys in the nation, who didn't even think about law school until he was 35.
