JTS - He could fit that…then again, there are about a dozen other players who match that description as well. ![]()

*Any* player we take will fit that description! If we look back at last year’s rotation — leaving aside what might happen in the summer — who can we take a 16 that would crack the rotation of the top 10, i.e. the starters plus antonio, jarvis, andray, darius, and thomas/haywood (whoever you think was the backup)?
No one who we’ll have a shot at is likely to take minutes away from any of those guys next year. The only imaginable case, as far as I can tell, is if we take Dudley or Almond, both of whom seem to be able to shoot at an nba level, and they get minutes just to do that. Seems unlikely.

What we do need to do is strengthen our weak back bench: Mason, Taylor, Booth, Ruffin, Hall.
Mason and Hall aren’t nba players, in my opinion, and Taylor is on the bubble. Booth is a pretty good safety guy to have, and maybe someone wants to make a claim for Ruffin — but he is 100% intangibles, and 100% may be just a little too high!
Now, if we don’t re-sign Hayes, that’s different. Someone has to back up Caron. If we don’t re-sign Stevenson, we need someone just like him because we really don’t have another prototype shooting guard.
We’ll see tomorrow!!

Not to mention finding minutes for Pecherov — I forgot him!

Does anyone else feel like Ernie’s comment about 1:30 into the interview as a hint that he might be leaning to Thaddeus Young, as someone who wouldn’t necessarily contribute right away but could make a big impact down the road?
