2007 DRAFT JUST HOURS AWAY….
Where’s my “24″ clock when I need one…BLEEP-BLEEP, BLEEP-BLEEP, BLEEP-BLEEP…
The 2007 NBA Draft kicks off in a few hours. Looking forward to having all blog members (and future blog members!) log on tonight and join in on what I anticipate to be a 100+ comment thread!
In addition, our very own Dave Johnson will be in the Wizards Draft Room to give a play-by-play of what Ernie Grunfeld and co. are doing throughout the evening (without giving away TOO much info, of course
).
The Draft is always a topic-filled evening, from the humorous to the catastrophic. Make sure to stop by – who knows, I may be in a random present giving mood…

well i hope that your in a random giving mood today…well for the 1st round i hope that the wizards pick up Nick Young if he is still available…another possibility for me is Theaddus Young….but other than that i think we should also give a look at Marco Belinelli from what i herad he is a great shooter…..in the 2nd round i think we need a defensive minded player such as DJ Strawberry….some draft still have Glen “Big Baby” Davis still available for us i think he would be a solid pick…but other than that im just trying to get out of a world that has me still hoping Taureen Green is still available

Very interesting interview w/ DJ Strawberry at http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=2144. Did you know that Darryl is his father? I didn’t.
Taurean Green is going to go in the 2d round. I can’t see him ever being a starter in the league. DJ *could* be — if he continues to develop defensively; he obviously sees being a Bruce Bowen-like player as his best future.
Thaddeus Young may be a bust; I hope we don’t take him on his athletic stats. I’m still picking Jason Smith unless there’s a trade. If we don’t take him, NJ will w/ the next pick, and he’ll be beating on us for a decade.

i’d veto Jason Smith. How many more perimeter big men can we have in our team? Unless we are about to let andray walk, i don’t think Jason Smith will be anything we don’t have. Hey don’t knock on Thadddeus. I watched all the Ga Tech games down here and he improved from game to game. If he or Javaris is available I’m all for my Jackets going to the Wizards. More for me to cheer for. It’d be awesome to see us find a gem in the 2nd round like Grunfeld did before with Redd. I’d put my money on Ernie any day of the week as a talent evaluator.

FYI I don’t know where they’re getting this stuff about Julian Wright falling to us but that’ll mean half the teams ahead of us are smoking crack or there’s something about Wright I don’t know. Anyone keeping track?

wow if wright happens 2 fall 2 us then i will be the happiest kid on earth lol. i mean he can fill in the sf position and we can just move caron 2 sg and have a real big starting line up!!!!!then with our 2nd round pick i hope we pick either aaron gray, glen davis, or marc gasol any one of those would be solid picks for us.

Whatever happens tonight it’ll be interesting cuz it’s basically the first step of EG’s summer plan to create a definitly serious contender for a title, and as Mike Wise said lastly a team “for” Gil. I like DJ Strawberry personnaly, I think if you look toward where the NBA is going he might be quiet interesting for us.
