STRAWBERRY AMONG FRIDAY’S PARTICIPANTS
The Wizards will hold workouts Thursday & Friday. I’ll release the names for Thursday’s workout tomorrow, but I’ve learned that former Maryland guard DJ Strawberry will be among the players at Verizon Center on Friday. So all you Terps make sure to log on for the usual pics and video.

WizDom, you are right on target. DJ and DeShawn might be separated at birth. Both are excellent lock down defenders, with the occasional offensive outburst. Before this season, I would have said that DJ is a little more consistent offensively. However, DeShawn was impressive this year.
I am not sure I would take DJ with my second round pick. I am thinking he might slip out of the draft, and be available as a non-drafted free agent. That would be a great pick-up!!!

Our 2nd pick may be too high for him.. but I doubt that no one takes him.. he’s been moving up the charts.

Last mock draft I saw had him going as the last pick in the draft.

It’s cheaper to get him w/ a 2d round pick then as a free agent, isn’t it?
But, lets not overestimate him; I don’t think he is at all the equivalent of a young but experienced nba starter like deshawn stevenson! That’s going too far.

TM – Most undrafted rookie end up “settling” for the NBA minimum. The market will dictate that. The one benefit is that you get to choose your situation, rather than report to the team drafted you.

DJ is a good defensive player… He could be a cheap alternative for DeShawn.
