PRE-DRAFT WORKOUTS: DAY 3
The Wizards held a pre-draft workout on Monday that included Jared Dudley (Boston College), Curtis Sumpter (Villanova), Reyshawn Terry (North Carolina) and Avis Wyatt (Virginia State).
QUOTES FROM MONDAY:
Jared Dudley, Forward, Boston College
On his workouts:
“My workout went well. I shot the ball extremely well today. I have a lot of workouts in a short period of time, so I am just trying to get my body right and keep going.”
On what he is trying to show during his workouts:
“I think everybody knows I have a good feel for the game. I am trying to show teams that I can shoot the ball extremely well. I feel that I am one of the best shooters in this draft. I just want to go to a team and situation where my assets can be used.”
On the possibility of playing for the Wizards:
“Washington would be a perfect fit for me. I like the organization, I like the city. I definitely think I could be useful here. I can come off the bench and give them the scoring spark that they need.”
Curtis Sumpter, Forward, Villanova
On recovering from his knee injury:
“I did not think I would recover so quickly and so well. I have seen a lot of people with this injury that were not the same person when they returned, but with a lot of hard work and people working with me, I was able to return to my old self.”
On being evaluated during the workouts:
“You see guys in there with pens and pads evaluating every step you make. I try not to pay attention and just focus on the workout and try to get better. In the back of your mind you are always thinking if you made a mistake, what are they writing and what are they thinking.”
Reyshawn Terry, Forward, North Carolina
On the workout:
“It went well. It was a good run and it was different from all the other places I have been. For the most part it was a good exercise for us. Being able to stay focused while you are tired and to be able to push through is very important during the workouts.”
On the variety of workouts around the NBA:
“It is a good thing for me because I get to take different things from every workout and put them all together.”
Avis Wyatt, Forward, Virginia State
On what he needs to show teams during workouts:
“My athleticism and my versatility to play either the three or four positions. A lot of people think I do not have a chance to make it because I played at a smaller school, but teams know when they see talent. Whether you played at Division I or Division II school, they are smart enough to recognize it.”

I’m having trouble with the video on this post — I wonder if the flickr slide show is just eating up all the bandwidth?
Maybe not, as I’m having trouble loading it on youtube’s site too.
Jared Dudley seems to be an excellent prospect.
