Larry Coon’s Salary Cap/Collective Bargaining Agreement FAQ is so well done the NBA Players Association website actually links to it.
It’s a great way to understand the Cap and CBA in layman’s terms (for all you lawyers/budding attorneys, have at the actual CBA.)
