AFTER PULLING CLOSE, WIZ FALL IN GAME 3
The Wizards used a 23-4 run to open the third quarter to tie the score at 65 after trailing by 17 at halftime. From there, it was a back and forth contest highlighted by Antawn Jamison’s hot shooting (17 in the 3rd, career playoff high 38 points). But Sasha Pavlovic hit a three with 25 seconds left in the game to push the Cavs lead to six and seal Game 3 as the Wizards fell 92-98.
“This is the playoffs, we were down 0-2 coming back to our home court, and it was not the frustration from being down but from how we got down — not communicating, not getting back,” said Jamison. “They had a couple of easy fast break opportunities, we should learn from our mistakes and I do not think we had the fire and the energy that represents this organization and this team.
“We should be giving a better effort then what was given in the first half. We could not afford to let opportunities get away in the second half, and I put it on myself to play with energy and hopefully inspire my teammates.”
The Wizards now enter a do-die-situation as they enter Game 4 on Monday at Verizon Center (7:00 pm). Tickets for the game can be purchased online, at any Ticketmaster outlet, at the Verizon Center Box Office, or by calling 202-397-SEAT.

I AM REALLY GETTING TO HATE CLEVELAND BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THAT GOOD AND IF TOUGH JUICE AND AGENT ZERO WAS PLAYING THIS SERIES WOULD BE IN THE WIZARDS FAVOR AND I WOULD LOVE TO MEET THEM AGAIN. THEY ARE SO LUCK WE ARE NOT IN FULL POWER AND LEBRON AND THE LEBRONTEES CAN CHEER NOW BUT NEXT YEAR WE WILL BE IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS AND HOPE THAT AGENT ZERO WON’T OPT OUT NEXT SUMMER SO IN THE FUTURE WILL BE IN THE FINALS.

its far from over but come on at least next year all the guys that are on the bench will have play off experience cant beat that when you have a team that can be cold and then you bench it up and throw 10-15 diff combos of guys at them we should be a 55-60 win team next year

oh man, i hope he doesnt. DC loves him, he loves his fans, I really really hope he stays. the wiz truly have so much potential and spirit, they’re showing that by the way they’re playing right now.

About Gil to opt or not next summer that is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time, we all know he wants a ring and even more than one, but he ain’t no punk, he won’t leave us while we’re getting better and better, I really hope he doesn’t.
About our situation, it was kind of hard to wake up today, you know all this guys saying “No team has ever came back from a 0-3 situation” well you know what guys?? Let’s write HISTORY!!! We have to use our bench WAY BETTER, cuz this is the key! Go all in guys.

I AM SORRY TO SAY WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH FIREPOWER FOR THIS SERIES IT TIME TO LOOK AT NEXT YEAR EVEN IF WE WIN A GAME IN THIS SERIES. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE CAN GET MARCUS CAMBY BUT I GUESS WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH SALARY CAP ROOM.

That was a great game. Being there was awesome. The place was electric! Especially in that 3rd quarter. I think everyone knows that if we had Caron and Gil, we would win this series. Just wait til next year. This is only going to make us stronger and better in the playoffs. I love this team, and they have impressed a lot of people. Such a great game.

Eric, isn’t Arenas under contract for 2 more years?
How many years does Carlos Navarro have on his contract? Do you know how much he’s due for each year?
Jamison’s contract is up after next year and his new contract should leave us some cap room.

Neal - Arenas has the option to opt out after next season.
No idea on Navarro except that he’s making a LOT of $$$ and with NBA rules he would have to be the one to pay the buyout.

More on Navarro:
“Navarro’s buyout clause is considerable. He is under contract through 2009 and must pay 10million euros to the club should he leave. Barca general manager Zoran Savic has already said the club will not reduce the buyout by one euro.”
I believe the Wizards help him pay up to 500k of his buyout.

So if his contract ends in 2009 he would be available to play for the Wiz for the 2009/2010 season? We have to wait two more years? That doesn’t seem so bad.

Elysia that guy has lost his mind he is probably the only guy in the world who took what Gil said that way and ill tell you now i am not a Gil fan i am a wizards fan and i would be the first to tell you if he was doing negative things to hurt the team but talking about a game your on while your hurt has nothing to do with us losing to the cavs that guy just put crap on a site and called it sports news
